nd+1jrkyvgzh - well then, by all means don't buy it.
The lowest price Occidental Petroleum stock reached in the last decade was $8.50 on October 1, 2020.
@nd+1jrkyvgzh, no it didn’t. Stop making things up.
It almost filed for bankruptcy 5 years ago because of anadarko acquisition timing. You can try to put lipstick on this pig all you want but eveyone knows this stock is a tu-d.
Depends on your goals. If you are short term investor then there are better companies out there and none of the companies in energy sector are going to be attractive. The point is Oxy stock performed better than many sector companies in 5 years.
I know the kind of people that work at Oxy. Their track record, the workplace bigotry, the dishonest and unethical culture. They deserve everything they are getting that’s bad. They need to be looking over their shoulders the rest of their lives on top of all that. They deserve it.
it seems better to move money from oxy stock to either XOM or CVX.
Just do a little research it's free and takes 10 minutes.
% Returns YTD 1 Y 5 Y
BP -10.05 -32.94 6.79
CVX -6.36 -16.22 60.87
XOM -4.12 -15.31 139.14
COP -12.69 -35.01 148.75
APA -34.86 -56.28 83.41
OXY -23.76 -45.61 145.25
AAPL -20.87 13.2 195.76
TSLA -37.54 44.47 560.31
He is right about Oxy for last one year. 50% down in one year. Half brain CEO costed half of the company value.
