Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Accelerated layoff

If you choose to take the accelerated layoff are you giving up retraining rights? Does anybody know if you’re giving up anything by taking accelerated layoff?

Warning of IAM751 if you select slump sum. You lose seniority and lose recall rights.

So you keep seniority but lose recall rights. It’s sounds possible. I’m locked out of worklife pro would copy and paste what it says. I’m pretty sure that’s where I read under “accelerated lay-off “

I think there is a disconnect here. There are two things at work.

If you accelerate the layoff, you do keep your seniority. If you have 10 years at Boeing and you ever work for them again, you will start with 10 years seniority.

However, if you accelerate the layoff you will NOT have first rights to recall. If you want to come back, you will have to apply for an open position. You will not be automatically called back.

You don't loose anything, I have had two layoffs and done it once before and retained all my recall rights seniority.

I put “you lose recall rights” I believe I seen it somewhere. It might be under “accererated lay off” I was pretty sure that was right when the person said I was wrong. I went to research but I left on VLO and can’t get in my worklife account. I honestly believe it is in black and white some where. If you want to keep recall I wouldn’t sign until you know. I believe this a company policy and not a union negotiated policy or it would be more worker friendly. Good luck

I just read it myself and it says” you do NOT give up any rights”. I’m filling out the paperwork on Monday to leave. It requires a manager approval.

Hey @uvq, I could care less what happens to any of you, I called the union myself & asked them, they told me what I posted. Call them yourself if you think you’re calling my bluff. To the OP, ditto. Never mind me, get it from the horse’s mouth.

Hey OP, do not believe @nba+15qPVBL4

He wants you to take the accelerated layoff and lose your recall rights.

Call his bluff and ask the union, they will tell you the same thing.

Actually, the below post is DEAD WRONG. You do not lose anything. Your seniority stays. Your recall rights stay. Don’t believe me? Ask the union.
