Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Does Oxy have operations in the Gulf of America?

Will VH and the executives bend a knee and officially make this change?

USGS and BOEM still exist? Good to know.

It is officially GOA according to the USGS and BOEM. It is already being used on production reports. Not controversial.
Did any of the precious snowflakes crying about it say a word when previous administrations were renaming military bases, national monuments and mountains?

I have heard that inside the Kremlin they call it the Gulf of Moscow. On a separate note, a very reliable source told me Mexico refers to it as the Gulf of Mexico. Apparently, Kim Kardashian calls it the Gulf of Kim. For my part - I don't care.

You are so right. We shouldn’t focus on the negative and the past. Let’s focus on how to get this clown out of office before the four years are up.

I think I get it. I will be sorry when this or that happens. I’m not going to like him when he does this, that and don’t forget about the other thing. Sounds like 2024 all over again. The election is so last year, and your gal so lost. I won’t devote anymore time to these doomsday predictions. Come back when you have something more than your fortune telling, which by the way, takes no effort at all. Bye Fortune Teller.

At least the people you mentioned were not je-king this country and the rest of the world around. Let’s see how you feel when Oxy gets government money pulled from them and big time layoffs happen at the company. Let’s see if you put more thought into supporting people like DT next time.

“Unprofessional talk”. Oh my! That always leads to wearing clothes that aren’t color coordinated. Then, it’s only one small step to leaving your shoes untied, shirts with buttons instead of cuff links. If they start cursing, I won’t be able to drink my expresso (made with pure spring water and almond milk, of course).

Haven’t you supporters of DT seen enough after that very unprofessional talk by DT during the Oval Office meeting yesterday. If any executive at Oxy did that to another company official.in a public setting they would be fired. It is great to see the rest of the world continue their support for the Ukraine leader. But you people voted for this DT guy so we will all have to pay the price. Thanks again for nothing.

@2aq+1jkzsabyz, so to be clear, this story is based upon one anonymous source suggesting that Peter Navarro wants to renegotiate border lines with Canada. I suggest you need more than one anonymous source before you can seriously compare this to Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. Hyperbole after hyperbole ruins your credibility, and at some point people simply tune you out, which is exactly what has happened.

I only refer to Hillary Clinton as Hillary Rodham. I shall refer to you as Precious. But I’m just petty about insignificant things.

Dear Leader wants to move the Canadian/ US border now. Kind of smells like the annexation of the Crimea doesn't it. Must be what autocrats talk about at the club....

How can you have respect for our king mo--n and anyone who changes the name of the GOM just to make the king happy and get the rewards. What if he wants to change the name of the Great Lakes to the Great American Lakes. Will people obey that too. People get real and tell your republican representatives to start impeachment now. That is the only way.

Buddy, I sense you’re upset. Perhaps a new hobby or a long vacation might help you get your mind off your troubles. There will be another election in less than four years. Maybe your gal can run again. She might do better. Keep hope alive.

There is something terribly wrong with those who support what is going on in Washington now with the indiscriminate firing of people like they are just plug and play people. That is similar to what the oil industry used to do but fortunately we have learned our lesson.

I just learned about AP getting the boot from The White House press conferences for refusing to rename the GOM. Is Oxy changing the name on the stockholders reports and reports filed with the SEC ( if they even exist anymore)?

Try finding some real news sources and don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Renaming the GOM to GOA had absolutely nothing to do with rolling back the Biden administration’s restrictions. It’s Trump being Trump

I read where it was done to rollback all the previous admins last minute laws put in place to slow drilling in US waters. Maybe someone is a little smarter than you give them credit for. Do a little research and you might answer your own questions.

@b6+1jkzsabyz, why?? Because any documents you need to execute will say GOA. I guess you could refer to Texas as Mexico if you wanted to. Things are changing. Best to get on board or you will be left behind.

Why would any credible company support this nonsense coming from Washington. You won’t get anything from DT in the next four years except to drill to your hearts content but that is not the strategy if you want to stay in business. There needs to be an energy summit at the White House where one by one each oil company tells DT that he has it all wrong. Then tell him to change his ways or the oil companies will see to it that the republicans get displaced in two years. He-l, get WB to back you up. He can go up against the other billionaires.

Yes, Oxy’s operations in the GOA came from the APC acquisition. It’s not the first time Oxy has operated in the GOA though.
