Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

It's shame on you engineers

Left Juniper 4 years back as I didn't foresee promoting from sr staff to principal even after 4 years. Now,
AK promoted => sr director -> vp -> gvp
sai R -> joined as sr director and now vp
Sam Madr => vp to gvp, with no experience

All engineers I know are stuck, many peoplw left. Guys, this company doesn't deserve your hard work, just leave and join startup and at least give a chance and make others rich

You engineers better stay I ve been at a Cisco for 10 years, Oracle for 3, EMC for 3 and many start ups to include Palo Alto and I can say with certainty that most of you work less than you would at any of those companies at least the engineers supporting Sales. The whole concept that an SE has to be "tasked" before they act is complete BS . Too many hide behind this, take endless vacation time and work harder to avoid doing any real sales support than supporting sales.

@mzty+1jLFiEPf : Let me just add that it is just a personal opinion about underperforming persons, which could be unilateral. There are a lot of well-performing leaders in the company leading great teams with success and delivering results.

@hqcg+1jLFiEPf - those Dirs, Sr Dirs, VPs are not even qualified for their jobs let alone promoting the right people.

@dlsk+1jLFiEPf - Management folks who wield their position and title more than truly leading the team will end up having messed up sense of technical leadership. Such false sense of leadership is the cause of so many attritions, Juniper engineering suffers from on a regular basis. I know so many directors who are running the show for more than a decade but have not been able to retain a single employee for more than 2 years. Ridiculous such organization can exist without toxic leadership at the top.

While most people reach and stay in Staff, Sr. Staff for like a decade, there are folks who are fast-tracked perhaps due to their unarguable talent, some got promoted twice in 3 years.

Its ridiculous how management folks(manager, directors, Sr Directors etc) end up getting promoted so smoothly when i can hardly recall anyone(mentioned in the list above) having leadership qualities to even mentor folks in the team let alone lead the team under them. Most of them function like demi-god who are hardly questioned in the organization. More so when most of these folks have caused unprecedented levels of attrition with their inaction. Surprised how does Juniper board(if CEO does not have any sense of leadership) turn blind eye to such toxic leadership teams.
