Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Big Layoffs in California

The team in Dearborn apparently held a meeting and believe that everything being done in California is mere smoke and mirrors, a dog and pony show. They have also questioned the cost-value relationship of skunkworks. Recently, some consultants visited and essentially stated that every innovation from the team was merely a rehash of ideas from other companies. They suggested that the internal team could have easily accomplished the same thing at a lower cost with more realistic assumptions resulting in higher return for the company.

I've had the misfortune of being involved in a few different projects with management from the California region.

In my personal experience with the one LL that I've interfaced with I can't imagine dealing with a more incompetent egocentric useless waste of oxygen.

I can only imagine half of those people fluttering around with their top down in their convertible EV thinking how great they are to the future of this company

@r0 Luxury experience? Same luxury experience if you wipe your A$$ with a pelt of exotic fur. Disposable cr-p! A walking Doofuss is still a Doofuss even when they are driving a Lincoln. SHALLOW.

Given this new $sh-t...what say you boy? Nope....never mind...all we'll hear is "mobility blah..." and "innovative blah, Ford+ (vomit)"....we know where you stand.

Well...no $hit. Never thought I'd see it. Could this be some quiet acknowledgment that things really aren't as good as they play it out to be? Hmmmm.

Lincoln is a highly sought-after automobile, as the general public is well aware. While it’s possible that Lincoln employees recognize this to a higher degree than the general public as they are undoubtedly aware of the exceptional luxury experience Lincoln products offer.

@qa Educate yourself: the only people who consider Lincoln a luxury brand are Ford employees.

DF and his obsession with non existent California talent will bankrupt this company.

@n0 I see this for Lincoln as well, people seem to be out of touch with the revolutionary luxury products and experiences which we offer, we have to executive leadership that has continued to maintain Lincoln’s status as a luxury auto maker.

One thing I know is the company has a lot of sadistic fu--s, they’re usually fairly silent in their harassment and abuse, but you sir are not and I commend your boldness.

@n0 gotta give it to you, you’re always good for a chuckle. Our management team couldn’t find their way out of a monkey maze…. I’m betting the ford family has no regerts.

But yet the company begs Chinese partners for help. Explain that one away fan boy. Credentials are about as good as the paper you wipe your b-m with when you have to resort to that.

Agreed. People like that have no clue on the truth about our top executive leadership and their credentials and achievements. No clue. There is a reason Bill Ford stated we have the best leadership in place right now in the company's history.

Work done in Dearborn was presented as a deliverable in Irvine to artificially prop up California studio's abilities. All BS but necessary to justify work on the west coast. People in Dearborn just expect this as business as usual. Keep sending the checks to our bank account and we'll play the game.

Call it what you want. Whatever it is, it makes competition from Ford a non-factor in their business while Ford see them as a competitor. Either way.

@bq Tesla has yet to realize a single good product. They just farm hype from Elon and move the goalposts as they continue to fail.

Ford and GM seem to have this thing where they think they are competing with Tesla. While Tesla looks past them both into the future all the while handing us their flunkies to try and overlay concepts they learned there over Ford culture and process. Let's all watch it fall over itself together. Everyone panics while scrambling then come the performance separations for those who got thrown under the bus for the overall lack of direction. F'ing clown show if I ever saw one.

Sorry OP, your post is pure fiction. The team in California that DF has built is second to none, the best in the mobility sector. Once the products from Skunkworks are brought to our customers via Model e, the BEV future will be realized. The Ford BOD and leadership all know this first hand.

They needed a meeting this late in the game to decide that huh? Well better extremely late then never. I guess FNV4 lessons weren't taken to heart very well. Amazing how things are simply ignored. Now at Ford when the phrase "Lessons Learned" is used, you know it's BS and they aren't serious.

Oh my goodness, I can’t wait for this product to launch! If the incompetence I’ve observed from afar is any indication, this will be a colossal failure. What are they telling suppliers about the projected volume? What kind of volume can a cheaper Tesla knock-off demand from a company with a less-than-stellar brand reputation? Hmm, I suspect there’s going to be a reality check coming soon…. I love driving an electric vehicle, but it’s not suitable for everyone. Assuming otherwise is simply a farce.

'from the team was merely a rehash of ideas from other companies'
is that a kind way of saying they borrowed other people's patents
