Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Remember when an Intel retiree called out the toxic culture?

It happened about a year ago on LinkedIn. Everyone was up in arms about it. A year later, nothing changed, and I’m betting most of you don’t even remember it.

@s8 obviously the comment struck a nerve with you so you must have had the same thought at some point. Adding Rockwell to the mix doesn't help your argument. Bad management is often a contributor in failing companies but it is rarely the sole cause. They also hire a bunch of worker clowns to complete the circus which is where you come in...

@mv No, I didn't bring those companies down, bad management did. At Intel there was also the problem of a company divided between 2 countries. For the record, I also worked for Rockwell International, which bit the dust after I left. Your comment shows you to be a very confused red hat clown, the unemployable company destroying type. I seriously doubt you are employed.

@p5 when output is prioritize it causes employees to compete amongst eachother instead of working as a team which then leads to a hostile unsafe work environment with unpredictable yet not surprising human crisis

last month swat team and rio rancho police arrived in full force during cross shift pass down due to a blue badge threatening to shoot up fab 9. managers down played the situation as an employee going through a mental health crisis BUT if you have a background in business management and human resources...THIS IS AN ISSUE with LEADERSHIP that could have prevented work place violence. managers need to follow Intel guidelines and prioritize safety first followed by quality and output. they need to do what is right, grow some ba--s, and not be afraid of putting thier foot down to protect their employees. instead, managers continue to prioritize output followed by quality and safety. Intel needs to make their managers take leadership courses and make all employees take people skill courses...lots of weirdos that have no clue how to interact with others. You can hold employees accountable and use pressure and threats to make employees productive but you'll get more productivity if you hold employees accountable and promote a positive and humane environment at the work place instead of treating them like replaceable employees.

@gy wow your employment brought down two American icons... if you have some free time in retirement can you work part time at Target, Walmart, or Costco? They need to go too.

I live fairly close to JF and worked there when it was a giant beehive, often hard to find parking. Now it seems like a mainly vacant ghost campus, a shell of its former self. I knew changes and challenges were coming, that bad decisions would bear a price, but I never anticipated this level of decline .. it's one of the all time historic internally driven business collapses, comparable to Kodak (where I also once worked). - a retiree -

The corporation you call Intel doesn’t even resemble the Intel I worked for in the 90s. It is now a pathetic joke.

OP, what’s your point? Did you expect change? Did you expect this person and what they said to be remembered? Maybe hold them up as an example, motivator, and martyr?

The system will not recognized problems nor allow any change.
