In light of the Supreme Court ruling earlier this year. Has anyone talked to a lawyer or got data on discrimination on who’s being laid off? If not from the top then from the managers who identify the employees to get rid of.
Locomotive going to over see mechanical. Now is time for mechanical managers to worry about where they gonna bump. They been shielded for years.
@mt+1jq8yapa4 Can you go more in depth about the 2 people in mechanical comment please? There are 2,700 more or less people in the mechanical department at Union Pacific.
FYI The cuts have been happening for the last ten years, so I'm not sure why now it's a surprise to some people. The first biggest cuts started under Fritz and got bigger during PSR. The stock price is dropping, so the possibility of larger cuts is to be expected. Vena hasn't made good on his promises to the shareholders, so he's going to cut where he can to limit costs as much as possible. Sorry to any Vena sympathizers out there, but I don't think Vena is going to be around very much longer. You can't run a railroad like this and survive.
It is going on right now. 2 people in mechanical department
Fyi cuts are going on. I know 1 director and 4 other people in Tech that got let go this week. Diff days
Are we getting laid off today now? How about tomorrow? I’m tired of waiting.
I thought yesterday was the day? Now it's today after a special meeting. Do you think it'll change to tomorrow after a special luncheon or just small talk between executives passing each other during a bathroom break? I'd like to know how you know of all of this information, especially when they've NEVER shared that kind of information before. I'm sure it has everything to do with the current chief legal officer retiring in just a few days, and the replacement being brought up to speed on the current issues plaguing the UP. Thank you for being so vague in your post that said literally nothing.
I’ve had the feeling that Jimbo is on his way out. Hopefully to be replaced by a more progressive visionary. Jimbos’ time has come and gone. Respect to him but he is a one trick pony…
