Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Serious question, bonuses

Not sure if serious questions are allowed anymore here but here goes. If you leave (resign or LR, doesn't matter) and are entitled to the bonus but it doesn't pay out until several weeks after you leave, does it come via direct deposit or via mailed check?

I left Cisco once (and then came back). I left after the end of the fiscal year. That was the eligibility date. Some months later, my old manager called me and send they’d be sending a check for my bonus—and they did. You just have to work through the end date of the fiscal year.

Some individuals work in Sales and have to submit KSOs on a quarterly basis. You get a bonus every quarter and can not receive the company wide bonuses.

As to the OP, if you are referring to your quarterly bonus, I believe the language in the comp package states your forfeit the bonus if you leave or are terminated.

As they said on the TV show Dinosaurs, when you expect a bonus, it’s just salary.

How many companies keep paying salary long after someone's last day when they resign?

Firsthand - Or LR>they usually pay it (bonus mid or year end-it was paid to me when I was LR'd) ... not sure sure about than when resigning... do not think so....

if bonus is your make or break event, you have other issues. Learn to be financially savvy.

You need to be on the payroll when the bonus is announced so that means you need to be an active employee when Q2 results are announced in February. If you leave before that you receive nothing as bonuses are NOT prorated

You'll get it the same way you got payroll and the amount will be pro-rated based on your time worked.

usually, if you have direct deposit set up, it should come that way. I got paid bonus advance before my last but got paid unused vacation by direct deposit.

you do need to work up to a certain date to qualify for bonus. i recall this end of fiscal q2 for advance and end of fiscal year for full bonus.

i agree one does need to sort through bs to find real answers from people with real knowledge.
