Thread regarding Solventum layoffs

How do you all deal?

It is so heartbreaking reading these comments when is the next layoff, are we next?...this is honestly no way to live. Instead of being under the golden handcuffs...step outside your comfort zone and look for an alternative job! This is no way to live

Anyone saying 3M was great but Solventum su-ks: go take a look at the The Layoff Board for 3M. I just checked over there and it looks like they had layoffs before Thanksgiving, before Christmas, and now another round incoming for plants and TEBG. I mean, being at either of these companies? Not great right now.

I left in 2024. I miss 3M, but don't miss Solventum.

What a pathetic company!!! I quite quit a year ago and accepted a new job…. 3M was great but I’m embarrassed to even say the name solventum to my customers… the whole company is just a bunch of people faking it and buying time till retirement…..

So funny some of these dental folks came over and think they are important… also seems like obesity is the norm at solventum….

Anyone that stays here is a fool. Just commodity products with zero innovation….

@mk so someone needs time off for chemo after being exposed to 3M forever chemists. Enjoy your week off. Wow, did Heather implement this at Baxter. She's already paying dividends.

Heard a rumour that Sick Time will be going away and replaced with only a week of sick time instead.

Better enjoy your benefits now!

Those of us laid off on October 29 still have not had the lump sum severance paid.

I plan to get out now for my mental health, as you are reflecting on above: how do we deal. All of us need to have a backup plan with regards to AI, if we are not ready to retire. What we have now is: a failing company, a company who loves cheap labor, a company who wants to cut costs even at the customer's expense, and the worldly pressure to migrate to automation. I don't want to live wondering everyday, if this is the day I get laid off or fired. I want to create my own success and security.

I think layoffs are done for a while. Any layoffs this week would likely mean severance will spill into next year. And the last day would likely be in January.

Most companies don't like to have these "one time" exceptions spill into the 1st quarter. Not that anything Solventum does under Bryan is a one-time event. He has clearly played every card in his deck minus spinning of Dental, which will be another blow to profitability but would reduce debt by perhaps another billion.

Give me 40 million and I'd find a lot of growth inspiring ways to make the company grow the top line. And without paying for consultants like Dom and his Kearney clowns. HIS could have been a great growth engine but now it is being ravaged by cuts so Bryan can impress Wall Street.

I'd rather wait out the clown show, doodle daily on my personal phone and collect a paycheck until getting packaged out and then joining a competitor.

Solventum will be the next Imation.
