I know in the department I work in which is claims adjustments we are running out of work and it seems like more of our work is offshore and they didn’t have our last town hall meeting during our scheduled work hours which has never happened in this department as long as I have been in it so if I had to guess I would say that there is a possibility of future layoffs. I don’t regret taking the Voluntary resignation offer since I was going to retire in December when I turn 62 but I think it’s sh---y how the new ceo is treating the employees. I have been with the company for almost 19 years in August.

UHC WILL NO LONGER OFFER SERVICES FOR HBMC/LANDMARK. ONLY FPM AND NON UHC CLIENTS AS OF 4/10. 4/23 will be the last day to services these members. This is ridiculous and short notice.

Something weird is happening. They are moving people to areas with an higher inventory
(supposedly) train them, then to come out of training to NO work available for you to work?? I am not sure what's going on, but I would say Leadership is scrambling to keep people working. I do agree that some of the work in M&R has been outsourced or contracted out.

Ha they wont offer a buyout again you had your chance. with a 10% uptake on the offer no chance in he-l. Back to the ole layoff model. Opportunity was there but failure to execute and back to the plan of hoping and wishing that never works out.

I wish they would offer it again. I think more people would take it now that the initial shock is over.

Heard goal was 2-3% take rate and over 10% took it

Technically this isn't a layoff though. It's a voluntary agreement.

Back in early 2000s, I telecom company had a layoff which targeted older employees. The company was successfully sued for age discrimination.

Ever since that case, all layoffs for any company now includes that list of laid off employees that are within the laid off employee's org.

In addition, I believe 40+ year olds will have a delay receiving severance because they have a grace period to rescind their acceptance of severance after signing.

What is this supposed to mean. Over age 40? And why would they get a list of others and their ages if they took it

Everyone over 40 that took it was supposed to get a list of job titles and ages for those that took it. A little less than 2800 took it.

I don't regret no taking the VRSP. Taking it was taking unemployment off the table and while people will say that is not much it is something. Regardless that the company said they will not fight unemployment they wont have to because as soon as unemployment hears you voluntarily quit you were done with them. My gut tells me lay offs start 5/1.

They’re beginning to outsource claims.
So, one way or another, layoffs are going to happen.

Someone out there has info and should post it here. Everything else that has been posted on here has been pretty accurate so far. One day you hear they got enough people to take the offer the next day you hear they didn't get enough. So which is it? Do the ones left have anything to worry about?

Whenever such things are ever offered, always take it.

Because if you get an offer, that means you're already on their list for expulsion, and next time the offer won't be as generous, or even there at all.
