I'm a director, make $250k, was asked to take a massive pay cut (down to $125k); however, they're giving me an unlimited dinning pass at the cafeteria and a cot in the old janitor's closet (they were laid off, though not sure if I'd be required to scrub toilets). I'm thinking I might take it and stop paying rent/utilities, not a horrible offer. What do you guys think? I'd love to hear more about your demotion stories.

I just quit my job in the helium factory because of the way management spoke to me.
i am falling down a level, lost my 4 reports and now an IC. moved backwards but doing more work. others now taking over. probably being forced out.
