I wonder why Union isn’t involved in layoffs because every where I read if the company is restructuring even Union could be laid off! I safely assume August 2026 no more contracts for Union employees. Someone help me understand.

@a1 not going to happen!
@m9 my mistake his:" grandfather
was born with social activism in my DNA. My grandfather was a union organizer in the garment district in New York City. My mother took me to a civil rights demonstration in Washington in my stroller."[6] There is hope!
@kn frontier has about 13000 union workers. I wonder if they will take that into consideration . I for one would welcome the union and encourage them to embrace the relationship between company and union. Dan's grandmother was a supporter of the union if my information is correct.
There are many steps the company must go through to lay off any Union employees, so they could fight with us the next few years, offer us an incentive to go, or just wait for us to retire. I’m thinking one of the last two while they try to integrate frontier.
EIPP for Christmas 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
We have a ton of work to do, I don’t know why they would want to lay us off. Sorry if you lost your job, it’s not the Unions fault.
You should come outside, they’re probably hiring.
Union employees are more trustworthy then management.
Verizon is buying Frontier, they have over 12000 union employees, it wouldn't end well to mess with the union .
Yes, let’s keep pretending that it is the Union causing all our problems, and not the poor spending habits (poor network management and terrible investments), excessive leadership pay, and sending all our profits to massively rich stock holders (primarily).
Simple answer is becuase it's more complicated. I suspect that is coming though. there is a lot of Union folks that don't do much ( just like eveywhere else )
Because the legally binding contract necessitates that they lay off the young up and comers first before they get to the older guys that are about to retire. So a layoff of us would result in a disaster in 3-5 years when all those guys retire. And they can’t just “not renew” the contract, labor laws require them to bargain in good faith.
@a5 Is that you Rush Limbaugh? I thought you bit the dust a few years ago.
@a5 "Unions were important at the start of the industrial revolution"
...and, apparently, today.
There are union employees who are At Will hires.
Its a common misconception that a union can "prevent" union employees from being laid off. They can negotiate how it is done, reinforce seniority rules, require legal justification, and negotiate the communication plan but they cannot stop a layoff from happening. In large part, unions arent effective like they used to be-just a way to take your money and make you "feel" protected. Unions were important at the start of the industrial revolution and while they do have some good things they do today, they are largely just for show.
Unions have legally binding contracts while we are at will. Understand?
Wireless messed up the company
And all this d-mb spending on Aol yahoo and so on and on
It’s called a Contract, read up on it. And there was a surplus posted.
We are too valuable, I’m just kidding. We are next.
