I am saying a prayer for all affected tomorrow. I am not sure if I will be included just waiting to see. This company isn’t right.

OP here and I was laid off this AM. Sounds like Optum is done with HBMC.
Get out now if you end up being a RIF survivor. I did and it’s the best decision I ever made. Optum is a dinosaur and no one is growing or learning anything there.
Still here. What about any of this large corporate vulture culture is acceptable? Why are we just sitting here waiting for it to happen to us that remain? We are good! Good people, high achievers, 97% Honors Grad’s. It’s not us with the performance or relevance “issues”; it’s them. Optum and UHG have the lack of creativity and financial fortitude for survival. And any form of said Integrity. Let’s not be their victims. Let’s put our heads together and fight back!
For anyone who’s not been through this before. Be prepared for the most inhumane, emotionless experience of your lifetime. This is your warning. If there are 2 leaders on the call, likely one of them will not speak. You would think that a situation like this calls for compassion, but at this company, you would be wrong. Just be prepared. If you ask questions, you will get only prepared responses. It’ll be as if you’re speaking to a robot.
Also, my condolences
My NPs have a meeting at 8:15am with corporate: that dropped at 7 pm eastern. Guess it’s easier when everybody is logged off to send the invites? Then the SWs and CCs should be next.
@lwj+1ty63zTi which department without getting too specific
Some meeting invites just launched for tomorrow. Confirmed.
Omg, this is sooo sad. I was RIF'D back in April and it was one of the worst feelings ever being caught off guard. At least those on this site who still work for Optum know it's coming, which I think will be easier to deal with. I'm not going to lie, the employees (not upper management) were honestly one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life and now I can't believe how much people are suffering. If I could start a company with everyone who was laid off from Optum I would! But in the meantime, keep your head high and remember your job does not define who you are!
Best of luck for all.
