Because I know the corporate office monitors this site, I know as an employee this is a good way to anonymously get this information to them.

60% price difference for ingredients to make homemade spaghetti and meatballs? What justifies this on items that are exactly the same? As an employee this scares me. The economy is not great. Yes unemployment is low, but wages do not match inflation. As the economy gets worse people look for ways to trim their budget. 60% savings on your grocery bill is a quick way to save money. We NEED to become the value option again. We have lost sight of the prices in our center store. We started out as a small town grocer, we need to get back to those values. We look at the number of times customers shop with us, and items per cart, and all of the other metrics, but why are we not price matching the competition on the identical items? We have the ability to update prices in the entire store almost instantly with digital tags, why not do a scan of Walmart's app price and at least match it on these items? We live in a time when customers are more informed than ever and can instantly do a price comparison on their phone. I know Randy is still chairman of the board, but now that he is not running the daily operations of the company, we need the next generation of leadership to learn from the mistakes of his hubris and bring our company more in touch with its roots.
Written as a second generation employee who would like to make sure the company doesn't forget its original values as it expands into new retail ventures.
