This was a needed layoff if you unwilling to follow corporate policy. You should have started collaborating with onsite coworkers at your designated physical location. What kind of example were you setting for your team?

Yes, I was notified on 10/23/2023 that I would be let go on 11/06/2023. I refused to drive 60 miles one-way to be at an office where no one I know works. My letter said the company was eliminating my position. However, I am the development manager of a team of 110+.

No surprise -- we all knew its all about a layoff. However, that verbiage works out better for you with regard to unemployment. My guess is anything that indicates your refusal to do something that was policy could jeopardize full unemployment benefits.

confirmed and under Legg. Part of wave 1 "refused to relocate" letter.

Letter completely disagrees with all their rhetoric about collaboration or refusing to move and instead says "job was eliminated because they did not lose enough people because of attrition and additional reductions were necessary".

So basically more lies from the company and this was simply layoff disguised as RTO...

Ridiculous that a top performer was let go because he had the lowest seniority. This company does not value merit, just bureaucracy.

Shame on me, thought I was a protected species. I was a loyal Stankey bootlicker, on great terms with my manager and his superiors. Was totally blindsided, kinda like in the movie Goodfellas when Paulie gave Henry Hill about $5K, then told Henry he had to turn his back. What a kick in the head! I'm done, stick a fork in me, this company was my everything. I already know there is no life after working at the bell system.
