Yea this isn’t exactly the greatest deal in past. But beggars can’t be choosers. One caveat though associated with contracts like this is that ONLY US Born employees can work on these chips, etc.

Intel exited the military business in 1997 due to the challenges associated with producing chips for the defense sector. The demand is low, and if a project, such as the F-22 or Comanche, is canceled, the volume can drop to zero abruptly. Additionally, the military requires components for decades, which means continuing to manufacture outdated parts using obsolete processes.
