Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Sales vs everyone else LOL

I hope leader see how much division and hate they are creating with this RTO bs. It's the best drama ever. Everyone sales it's sales fault but if sales wasn't selling what would everyone else at dell do? Knit a freaking sweater? The enemy is leadership. Don't get distracted or be stupid.

Is APEX still a thing?

Can we just add an I in there with a Sharpie and call it AIPEX? We’d save a fortune in marketing material.

Fact is you lined your EMC pockets by gimping products that actually worked with your tracking stock. You are in the process of wrecking established product brand names with repetive adverbs. You have decided to call everything power to confuse partners, customers and waste time retraining sales forces. You refuse to allow the storage portfolio the ability to unify. You have failed to ride the downfall of vmware by not having native edge ready, you have failed in creating a sensible narrative with "apex" which no one can figure out what it actually is... step off Jeff, step off Bill. Retire.

yes. at some point even the remote robots will need to go to an office or get the ax, Its a culture thing bubba,,,,,, can't have a few folks doing one thing and other doing another thing. Best thing will be to have everyone - and transparently everyone w a monthly report shared to the employees - showing day by day every employee when they badge in and badge out and total time in a badge building. Not about productivity and growth (the 72 rule) and certainly not a culture thang. Go Turtle :). A new metric w cross functional team visibility

Make products people want to actually buy. How many sales people does it take to sell $200B of iPhones?

I think that Sales and all BU's need to understand that we all need at stand united. If they go after one team, please know the rest will follow. We all need each other in order to compete. PERIOD! Rather than trying to find fault and start the blame game, let's stand United and be strategic and point the fingers at those that deserve to have their fingers pointed at. And they are called LEADERSHIP! If we unite and stand with each other, we can be effective in making a change. Let's not forget, people in number have power, and we out number them! What would happen if the sales team decided to stop selling... 🤔

@lrf+1uIzLn52 If they had been the push to the channel would have been out the window granted it is only a matter of time before it fails.

Honestly, I don't get the in-fighting. Every group in this company has been gutted in the last 18 months. No one has budget for sh!te. Every team I work with is spread thin and trying to kick countless cans down the sidewalk. Some of the most knowledgeable and talented people we have have been cut due to their higher salaries. Sales significantly changed GTM a year ago, how did that plan work out? Who's being held responsible for that? Sales doesn't get the support it needs because of changes to GTM and staffing. Marketing su-ks because marketing was gutted. Engineering struggles due to layoffs there (and poor strategy from higher ups who throw spaghetti at the wall, investing heavily into products that flop, while neglecting products that still bring in revenue).

Every group is struggling. Instead of in-fighting, direct that anger at those who deserve the blame yet are never held accountable (and are also the one's deciding to force us all into the office in hopes we just quit). This ultimately comes down to poor strategy and decisions from the president level and higher. Don't forget that.

wml+1uIzLn52, nah yall non sales id--ts need to support us better so we can actually do sales again. Engineers make better products. Marketing make better events, stop taking away our resources and EOL products people like so we can sell. I think non sales people don't get is sales wants to sell and make money. Cause that's how we make more money than our salaries haha you are just jealous and I can't wait to fu-k up your offices and make more money then you and annoy you too! See ya monday!

Sales isn't selling, just sitting at home doing nothing and collecting a pay check . I can see how the power players made this decision. Sales needs babysitters to keep them working. So now they can all flood to the nice, quiet, clean offices like they own the place and throw it into an upheaval with all their drama. Lots of empty threats by the hybrids and remoters on this sight. You know where the door is so feel free to help yourselves out. Take that back, maybe you don't know where the door is, it's been a while since we've seen you

I'm trying to understand the "its all sales fault" stance? Here me out - inside teams were given a mandate to select hybrid or remote, with hybrid being 3 days a week/39 days a quarter. They were given weeks/months to adjust and comply.

Sales, who drives business, has been given less than 48 hours, effectively, to make the change to 5 days a week, including field sellers, who have never had to be in the office. More importantly, with the way alignments are done now after layoffs, you have sales teams that are not all aligned to their local area. So, you've got people with large territories going into the office to sit on the phone with people in another office to talk to customers who aren't near either of you... Does that about sum it up? I just want someone to make it make sense.
