Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Anyone able to be Re-Hired after 5/2 layoffs

Has anyone been able to be re-hired after the May 2 layoffs? Any interviews? Or just the generic letter stating they went with someone else? Have you been able to log into the Dashboard from your personal computer??
Do they just make it seem like they want to get you hired back on!

They’re not re-deploying anyone. Now that you’re external, by the time you even see a job posting, they already have their internal candidates, so, it’s not going to matter.
Maybe it did between the notification period until your last day.. but, this whole operation just feels like one big scam.

No. Got an interview for basically my exact same position, but didn’t get it. The “q&a” sessions were unhelpful, the recruiters clearly didn’t want to be there. Redeployment is a fu--ing joke. Don’t hold your breath.

Less than 1% rehire rate per a level 32 person

I’m a little surprised anyone got an interview from the post RIF job requisitions. I saw. Business Analyst position with a requirement of a Registered Nurse with Power BI and Snowflake. Does that person actually exist?

Applied for a ton, had 2 actual interviews for the same position and got the staple “where as you have all of the requirements, we dont want you…”. I was delusional and actually thought I would just get another position before the 15th.

Witty is a horrible leader. Who remembers his "fireside chat" where he talked about wellness and how he stays in shape by using his Pelaton? Just a little heartless when so many were living paycheck to paycheck.

I did hear a few people were moved into other positions at the dying hour. Other than that most of us weren’t successful. I interviewed for one role that was basically the same as the one I had that was eliminated. I received the generic email today stating they moved on with other applicants. In my heart of hearts I truly believe that most of these so called open requisitions are not actually open it’s all smoke and mirrors to save face. So I’m moving on. I’m waiting for instructions so they can get their laptop back and be part of my memories.

The last poster is right. Think about all the hard working people who gave their blood, sweat and tears to this company for years for these 1% raises year after year. Remember how that felt this past year when you got that 1% and no bonus and then, during the town hall, Witty disclosed that 98 billion in profit the company made and how the company was on track to have another amazing year. Yet they made excuse after excuse as to why they couldn’t even muster up 2 or 3%.. and then, without a shred of compassion, eviscerated somewhere in the neighborhood of 20,000 employees.
Is that where you want to go back to?

We are on borrowed time here whether you take a new position or not. I am going to start looking before it is too late. The company is toxic and I don’t want its taint to follow me while I look for a job elsewhere. I knew I should have left last year. Oh well. Live and learn.

They layoff here and hire in India, this company can go to he-l! The turnover/churn rate here used to be 30-35% which is extremely high! After being here we all know why, it’s kind of a sh-t hole job with very little job or career development for IT staff, so be glad the job postings are just HR compliance actions and not real opportunities. I take pleasure in knowing that there will be a review of the actions and decisions made these last few years and heads must roll, some change is already underway. Billions of dollars have been wasted because the weak leadership in MN couldn’t execute on morphing Optum into a software services company, they lost the Military contract and the state exchange business is floundering and probably losing money. So ask yourself do you want to give your best efforts for a 1% annual raise? Do you want to become complacent and lazy, working less than 40hrs a week to make up for the sh---y raises? Of course not, so leave this corporate giant and go make a career for yourself!

Treat it as a blessing and move on to better things to a company who values their employees.

At this point after all the shananigans they’ve pulled this year , for me it’s embarrassing to even have to list them on my resumé.

No, just the generic messages and the redeployment specialist, while nice, has not been helpful at all. They’re tailoring the job REQs for specific people, or so it seems because there are requirements for jobs that have no business being there. I’m sure there are multiple reasons for that 😃.
When I ask for information on why I was sent the rejection letter, I either get “they wouldn’t say” or they went with someone else” without an interview.
I’m hearing through the grapevine, too that external employers are getting absolutely flooded with UHG applicants. Most didn’t know why.

: @lps+1sv3D6WX You sure are a smug one aren’t you? Word of advice- keep quiet with your snarky remarks. There is no fine print that makes you exempt. The higher they think they are, the harder they fall.

I don’t mean to sound insensitive, but Yes to your question. If they truly had a position, it would have panned out by now. :-(
