Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

To those who stay

Take your time, don’t put in more than you have to. It’s not your job to maintain a company or make up for resources that were let go. Set boundaries. Take your lunch or least two breaks. Don’t take work home. Keep your peace and respect you work like balance.

It’s just a job. Don’t stress.

They cannot fire you if you are doing your job. Identify what that is and stick to it (no more or less)

Have a great holiday, enjoy the layoff.com aka Fiserv twitter.

And if you do get laid off and have tenure enjoy your severance. If no severance, sue them but make sure you document and express your “health” status if impacted by your work environment (you are welcome)

To be clear, the people who are being laid off are NOT under achievers. Do not believe that lie. They are overworked people that are remote or low hanging fruit when budget is not met. A blessing and curse when you are laid off but for your mental health, this is the advice because YOU MATTER. I am not HR, just been there and understand what you are going through.

Horrible advice. Come to work and bring your best every day. Learn, grow, make a difference. Don’t make career decisions based on the rambling of some disgruntled under achiever that longs for the days of Fiserv of old or wants to sit at home and pretend to work.

Only problem is that at Fiserv doing your job is the enough. You will still get sacked. Im the head of HR and can say this is a fact.

I agree with the OP with everything except the statement "They cannot fire you if you are doing your job."

They can (and will) fire you for no good reason.

Having said that, you can always feel good about the job you did as long as you follow the OP's suggestions.
