Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

How many applications per week do you submit?

If you are actively looking for a new job, how many is enough to give you a chance of landing something?

That really depends on where you are and what you want in your career. I know from experience, that applying online to company career sites is at best 1% chance of securing an interview opportunity. In a span of 10 weeks, I applied to 30 targeted positions mid-Senior level and secured 2 first interviews due to my resume matching almost all the skillset/experience requirements. I also secured 3 interviews from past connections. I know I am very lucky in that a former Manager of a different team remembered the quality of work I had put forth and having moved to another firm, wanted me on the new team. Connections would be your best bet. Wish you strength and focus through very difficult time.

I was let go last September. Since then Ive applied to at least 1000 jobs. Not exaggerating. Ive had 2 interviews no offer. Im currently interviewing with another employer and hoping I get hired I haven’t been rejected from this 3rd employer. I would say you need to apply to as many jobs as you can. Apply Apply Apply don’t stop until you land something. Even if you get an interview and it looks promising keep applying. Apply to atleast 5 - 10 jobs per day if you can and tailor your resume specifically to each job you apply to. Some details about me I have a bachelors, a masters, over 10+ years of experience and Im under 40 years old. I never had a problem landing a job but it's gotten really hard recently. Good luck!
