Washington State Unemployment Benefits - VLO

Has anyone validated with the Washington State Unemployment office that you can receive unemployment if you take the VLO?

What if it's an ILO and I am getting 26 weeks of severence pay? Do I qualify for unemployment while receiving severence?

2020 Layoffs determined by skill teams are subject to a final Diversity Scrub by HR - SO, the Companys efforts to be "Inclusive" is to the Exclusion of white males over 50 ..Just sayin ..Buh huh huh huh ... get ready for another cost of doing business - and it wont be from those flunky-a–'d union f—k ups at SPEEA or IAM who are colluding with Boeing (the great IAM sellout, and 2020 TECH Contract re-vote) riding this decline into the ground ..

I really disagree with what you said. Think about it sure you get a 60 day warn notice, but you still have to show up for those 8 weeks. At least with VLO you don't have to, which reduces the risk of getting sick. Also, for most people unemployment will pay more than boeing does even if you have to look for work. After a warn notice youll still have to look for work anyway its not like thats waived. Plus the earlier you leave the earlier you can access the additional pandemic stimulus. That ends in July, if you wait too long you won't get the extra $600 a week. And finally the sooner you leave the sooner you can withdraw your money out of your retirement account. I don't see the market improving soon, if it takes another massive dip you lose a lot more money. Believe me I hate boeing now after what it's become. Id stay out of spite to drain the company of money lol but I don't hate them enough to screw myself out of a better situation

You can receive unemployment it’s not fraud you are coded laid off. Pension from Boeing will count against your unemployment benefits so if you’re getting $2000 a month from Boeing you will get $500 a week less from unemployment. You will have to report your pay from Boeing but since you will be getting a lump sum pay for your severance package it will only be counted for one week. This last post before this is wrong On most if not all his points. I tell you this from experience. I have two pensions they deducted my Boeing pension but not my other one because it’s cI have two pensions they deducted my Boeing pension but not my other one because it’s considered Boeing paying double benefits.

Good question actually. It is voluntary. So does it relate more to “I chose to get laid off” or is it just a straight lay off.

As of now you don’t have to search for work. The state waived that. How long it lasts is anyone’s guess.

Remember, you need to be actively seeking another job while collecting unemployment or they will stop benefit payments. There are certain new guidelines with the COVID-19, however, that will only last a short while. Really think this through. You might want to wait until you get a pink slip, versus the VLO.

Boeing will code you as laid off. You will get unemployment about 750.00 a week for most. If you put in for pension pay (from Boeing) that will be subtracted. If pension from Boeing is 2,000 then about 500.00 a week will be deducted from your unemployment check. Pensions from other companies will not count against you. I also don’t believe social security will count against you but not 100 percent sure about that.
