How is anyone surprised? Tanzu was a disaster for many years before Broadcom took over, with years of incompetent leadership and horrendous acquisitions.
It was never a question of if Broadcom was going to drop the potato, just when.

Poor souls of Tanzu. Folks were happy when Pivotal was an independent company. Happy startup with very useful products. I used to admire for their startup culture and even wanted to join Pivotal.
Useless ex-CEO PG (Tech industry BiDen) acquired Pivotal. That was beginning of the end of Pivotal.

Massacre would be an understatement. Tanzu was gutted today. Reason why, it's going to be sold off hence the right sizing.
This place is fu--ing awful. I’m so tired of hearing how smart Hock Tua is. His decision making process is erratic, and he is making great progress destroying the legacy of one of the great IT companies in history. He has no respect for anyone, especially employees and even his own top executives. Never been around a CEO who literally calls people names in front of hundreds of other people. Broadcom’s board of directors should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this guy anywhere near a leadership role.
