What remains is a picked over company run by desperate figures who claw at whatever crumbs they can find and cling to their pathetic power, each fighting not out of ambition, but out of fear of having nothing left.

The old guard still lingers, the good old boys those who once basked in power and comfort, now wandering the dim corridors in search of someone weaker to blame, someone to sacrifice so they can feel important for just a little longer. Each decision they make feels like another boot pressing down on another neck, another story ending before it ever had a chance.

Towers stood, signals carried, and the machine moved forward steadily , disciplined, almost invisible in its reliability. That was the reputation: not flashy, but unshakable.

Then came the era of reinvention.

They called it “transformation,” as they always do. Language shifted first—less about uptime, more about “portfolio optimization,” “strategic divestitures,” and “capital efficiency narratives.” The people who had spent years understanding the ground truth were gradually replaced by voices fluent in presentations but foreign to consequence. Experience was labeled expensive; shortcuts were labeled innovation.

On paper, everything improved. Margins widened. Costs shrank. Slides told a story of precision and control. But in the field, something far less presentable was taking shape. Maintenance stretched thin. Corners quietly cut. Issues reclassified, delayed, or explained away with polished phrasing that sounded convincing—until it wasn’t.

CCI was once the kind of company no one noticed precisely because everything worked. Its success rose from deserts, farmland, and city rooftops, quietly stitching valued customers together with invisible threads of signal. Engineers bragged about “five nines” reliability, and carriers signed decade-long leases without hesitation.

The new executives called their plan “2.0.” They stopped talking about policies and started talking about asset monetization, leverage efficiency, and “non-core maintenance deferrals.” Veterans with talent and experience were replaced with subcontractors and little people brimming with big stories. The spreadsheets glowed with record margins, but the figures were simply made up or changed, inserted last minute to appease the executive team; who then created even more false narratives and numbers to bolster themselves while CCI’s foundation was weakening by the day.

“AI will save us!” She said. She only repeated what her phone told her to say that morning though. Everyone knew.

Carriers noticed in the only language that mattered: they stopped renewing. Penalties mounted, systems went down, excuses with big words were told to appease the leaders. Inside headquarters, dashboards still showed reassuring green bars—thresholds quietly adjusted, incidents reclassified as “environmental events” and “more need for collaboration”.

By the time the real board members realized revenue was evaporating and who was at fault, it was too late. They could not put enough lipstick on this pig to make it attractive enough to sell for a profit, as CCI wallowed in its own heap of hollow dung.

It was a classic case of how to turn a diamond back into the dirty coal it once was long ago. The so called leaders, as much as they tried to lie to themselves and everyone else about how wonderful they were, knew they were responsible and could not hide from their long list of costly failures and false promises.

In the end, 2.0 was really 0.2.

I’ve worked for Manager of F0s “ZZ Top” and “Dirty R0D P,” and at this point I’m convinced they’re not managers but performance artists specializing in chaos. These two shouldn’t be in charge of people & honestly, they shouldn’t even be left alone with a stapler.

And our director? A real profile in courage. He’s so terrified of losing his job that he just stands there like a decorative houseplant while his managers run around doing whatever they please. No accountability, no guidance just an endless buffet of bad decisions.

The whole field operations have officially reached “circus” status. We have Clowns running the show, and somehow the field employees are the ones paying the price and getting trampled on and discorded.

You must be referring to Old Dirty-R0D, MO-O in H0U... that guy is a tool. It amazes me how he is still employed, but when I look at his DIR it all makes sense.

Manager has been intentionally destroying our team, but our director is too busy licking the VPs boots to realize this. Which is hysterical because it creates more work for them

The Crown is absolutely tarnished, all the Crown Jewels are gone, only the fake and worthless management remains. Great post reminds me of my manager who has been here for over 25 years stepping on necks to keep his job. Full of doom and gloom and constantly destroying our Team, rules with fear and threats he is quite the MO-O and 100% South Good Old Boys Network member.

100% Leadership tells you to something one way then when they are scolded from above they place the blame squarely on you and take no accountability. Many Directors are weak with no back bone and just out to save their own job. Trust is long gone here...
