Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Analyst day was unconvincing

Wow oh wow no amount of spin can convince people that the comeback is real and they will put their money in the stock.

Seriously, dropping margins, huge capital outlays for fabs shells that might end up empty like Fab 42 waited for 10nm. Little confidence for four process in four years and the resurrection in 2025, everyone is unconvinced today.

Hiring and spending money sounds like a future of divestures and layoffs to me

@3xph - Pat is sounding more and more delusional and more and more clownish every day. He's starting to get into BK territory.

Between the #torrid and his claims that he invented USB, idk why people think PG is the second coming of jesus.

Hope and prayer are not strategies for success in the highly competitive semiconductor business.

@kid+1fmUTeGD Hi is that BoD or Pat?

You do realize Amazon redefined what book stores are, online shopping, shipping as well as cloud, all when there was NO business nor competition!

People like to point to Microsoft or Apple as cases of business resurrections but fail to realize their transformations were business pivots.

Intel is doubling down on IDM which as AMD, Nvidia, Mediatek, Qualcomm, Broadcom show isn’t a better business model for leading edge product silicon.

They are attempting to become a Foundry and even with Tower pale in scale and breadth which means cost and offering inefficiencies. They have failed at Foundry twice when they had technology leadership and now are four years behind, means NO competing move advantage.

Understand now why stock is so cheap, nobody believe you can’t even fool wallstreet and they are very gullible, remember Enron ?

At this point, no presentation, jaw-boning, PowerPoint, investor event, etc., will add one ounce of credibility to Intel. There's been way too much of talk, and no action. Talk is cheap, and endless product delay/de-feature has been the pattern of what Intel actually delivers.

The Boy Who Cries Wolf comes to mind, even if it's a new Boy doing the crying.

How about just shutting up and delivering competitive products on time.

Oh yeah, Intel hasn't figured out how to do that, DG2 slipped to Q2. So Intel will keep talking and showing slides.

The "if you build it, they'll come" message didn't work with the investors. You can build 4 fabs but that doesn't mean you'll get the clients to contract your manufacturing services.

Sounds like an amzn 20 years ago when no one buys it.
