Promoting good employees is obviously cheaper and more effective than constantly replacing them with new hires - a five-year-old could figure that out. On top of that, promoting su-k-ups who can’t do their jobs is a total waste of resources. Yet leadership keeps doubling down on these bad moves. It doesn’t take a genius to see that ignoring real talent is a guaranteed path to failure.

I second that, with data scientists too. It's a real shame. We could be doing so much more with our data analytics if we could keep the talent in the LOB.
There is also a lot of technical talent at the top of their pay scale and can only get a meaningful (cost of living) raise by leaving the org. Real orgs don't operate like that.
Yeah but it trickles down so much further from Bill. Steve Anderson has huge blinders on for some reason to make “T” interim head of our department while so many more of us have actual experience and can show real results outside of “networking” and been in Fraud more than triple her entire career. Guarantee she will be his downfall if he doesn’t wake up.
While I agree with you completely, your assumption is flawed. Bill and his boys aren't here for a long time. They're here for a good time.
