Wondering if all full-time remotes are ultimately doomed??!
A Remote online colleague of mine (who over the years I’ve been here has become a friend) also works at Fiserv but in another division, and in the UK (London). He was MADE Fully Remote, BY Fiserv, along with that Entire UK team - after Fiserv CHOSE to NOT renew all the UK London offices’ leases after the Covid pandemic. They chose to NOT renew 3 offices in central London, as well as closed down 1 office location just 20-30 minutes outside London.
They left ONE small UK office open in a completely different part of the country! - miles away! - which is just over 2.5 hours journey from London.
So, for all those official UK remoters - will Fiserv try to Force them to travel 5 days a week 5 hours a day, there and back, to get to the small office nowhere near London and too small to accommodate every Fiserver in the UK?! The contracts were London contracts! So, if they want London peeps to go back to an office Fiserv surely needs to Re-open a London office?? Or are all poor Remoters - who were instated by Fiserv itself as full-time remoters all Doomed?!!!
