National Weather Service had forecast severe storms with high winds for 3 days prior to yesterday. Yesterday day morning, forecasts had again increased projected wind speed into the 70-80 mph range. By noon NWS was calling for winds up to 100mph. So what's Union Pacific genius plan? Run empty trains thru the storm anyways. What could possibly happen to trains with blow over speeds lower than forecasted winds...... Hulcher and Ryback thank you Omaha. I wonder how much money wasn't saved yesterday? Clearly derailing multiple trains was far cheaper than tying them down and recrewing them.

A moving train looks good on paper. If it looks good in paper , they look good. If they look good , they get a bonus. No matter what the cost or puttin crews in danger. They are to scared to use what they preach. "Stop the line" or "safety first" .
If the trains were vaccinated the 100 mph winds would be no match for them.
If you get your covid shot. Real time info and “what if’s” have no effect on you. If people would have gotten covid shots 150 years ago they would still be alive today
The UP doesn’t run on “what if’s”. They run on real time info. Just like they have for the past 150+ years. Deal with the weather. Deal with the adversity. If you disagree, the RR industry is not for you.
@kgb,, Too bad people aren’t immune to your stupidity.
It's ok, because contractors get a blank check and the RR doesn't care. It's the employees they can't stand paying.
