At this point, it's really hard to stay motivated and productive.

Unless an employee has worked for several companies in the same industry, the employee will be limited in comparing corporate cultures, layoff-handlings, etc.. Trust me when I say that the way layoffs are handled at other large financial firms is just as bad if not worse. As bad as it's been handled at Citi, it's worse at JPMorgan Chase, Goldman, Morgan Stanley and HSBC. Companies do this on purposes to drive voluntary quitting so that they do Not need to pay severance, avoid Quite Quitting and slacking off at work, and make the whole experience a guessing game as to who's getting fired until the last second! It's now a real life Hunger Games but worse! It's every man and woman for his or herself, and No one wants to help others because why help another worker look good when you may be viewed as Guillotine eligible??? Doing Layoffs just means Citi and other companies are sh00ting themselves in the foot because No one or very few employees want to collaborate for fear of Not getting credit for their work!!!
@2kfr+1p9i1qNS IpWe work in a non-transparent corporate environment. Most people are not their authentic selves and probably don't feel comfortable expressing/showing their fears.
The only place I hear people freaking out is on these anon message boards. When I talk to people I know or work with, they’re a little nervous cause there is ambiguity, but beyond that, they’re just doing BAU.
Let's demand leadership change! we are where we are because of incompetent leaders!
The self-evals are a joke. I think they could care less at this point. They know who they are going to layoff based on the stuff they said like functions, redundances and VOE. The environment is negative because of stress, lots of in COA mode, etc. It's what scare tactics
and fear do to an environment. Everyone's not bad but there are enough negative folks to drag things down.
@kcf+1p9i1qNS, perfect example of why they're cutting.
Citi is a sinking ship. Poor and incompetent leadership at the top. Until Citi recognizes there is leadership issues, nothing is going to change!
Citi feels like wearing an old coat, stale, and past its prime time.
The longer the downsizing takes the lower worker morale will be.
@gns+1p9i1qNS Swing and a miss! Im in upstate NY
@kcf+1p9i1qNS Let me guess, you are based in florida?
I do as little as possible every day, run errands, exercise, and take naps. During zooms I minimize the window and surf the net. Until the layoffs are over, this is the way.
