Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Simply Madness in HTOWN / Deep South

Now it's 3 store managers fired. All by the shadiest MKTHRBP/ Mkt MGR.

Why can't H.O. see through the turmoil that is bringing down the company and effecting the lives of hard working people. The company should be holding their own town hall meetings with store managers so they can address the lack of involvement from leadership.

No associates in the store because they are being told not to hire. Then when you do hire your told to cut like 500 hrs on this week / next week / and the week after off schedules. So the store managers are the escape goats to doing what their being told to do when this direction is coming from higher leadership.

Replying to - Allowable hours are determined by sales forecast. Make sales plan or flex downward on payroll hours. The SM either does that or they find someone that will. It's really pretty simple.

Which market in particular are you referring to?

That’s the stupidest cr-p sh$$ I’ve heard - the posters that spelt it out about - making sales budget (even berating it) as well maximizing bonus’s fir their associates fir 8qtrs in a row? - the poster talking about the rolling forecasted hours fir weeks to months and never seeing a change ( added hours) in budgeted hours ? Is not enough information for you to see what he is talking about ?

Reg-5mkt1372-store?? - had this happen for two years in a row and got worse when the shady mkt Mgr and HRBP came to town - all their supervisors have left the company now and have no-one to lean on - their next

Sounds like the store managers had poor business acumen. The smart store managers figure it out. Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

I looked on yahoo…..10 lowes stores in Houston,Texas( this is the subject of the thread right,Houston,Texas)…..are you saying 3 managers (33%)have been canned?A few months ago this site was full of comments about the Tampa ,Florida lowes stores…..bigwigs were coming oh my god and that kinda garbage.Maybe,.. maybe the market’s “saturated “.That’s what it sounds like to me,,,,can’t make budget because you’re fighting it out with each other as well as Depot.Mooresville’s pitiless demands for performance gives the excuse to can store managers…..whose replacements are cheaper and will “ enthusiastically “ carry out whatever idiocy comes down the pike. Also new store managers will “gleefully “ crack the whip and cut payroll .Just my two cents.

We used to have a Pro Mkt Mgr female that would go around saying sale sale sale and you would get more hours for staffing.

This is 100% false. The rolling forcast is already in the system for the SSA to use for like 10 weeks in advance. Stores maxed out sales - bonuses for everyone for 8qtrs in a row and I never seen added hours to this forcast. AND YOU still get the phone call to cut more hours in the stores.

There is NO-ONE to blame for the lack of customer service LTR/VOC ratings than the H. O.

We used to meet the associates at the door and tell them to go home before even clocking in. pT associates would be at zero hours - then FT would be forced to take unscheduled vacations etc or just voluntold to sacrifice days of pay.

The Houston / Katy Mkt is the worst.

Massive managerial turnover in market 1360 and at my store in particular. We just promoted a 20 yr old as specialty ASM and that apparently was the last straw for a 20 yr Lowes manager to move on to other avenues. No staffing has lead to absolute burn out

Why does it take 2-3 sometimes 4 months to hire a replacement salary Asm ?

Then Mkt team wants to know why the lack of follow up and coverage is in the store?

But be carful pushing back and challenging “that mkt team” in Htown because that will just get you fired

You should know the rules and that the poster can’t give details or their post gets deleted. I think their title summed it up.

And they are right about having to cut hours. The forecasted budget is done - schedules are within the efficiency range to finalize. Then you get a call from the BP saying cut / cut ,cut ! What a shady A$$ way to do people. The store Mgr gets the shaft by telling his team to go home and by the way your schedule is changed for the next month as well.

So if a town hall is done in the store and associates grievance’s are heard ? The store manager gets the shaft. Because the mkt leadership gave the direction to do so.

So even with everyone being sent home you have to listen to Mkt /BP telling the salary managers “YOU STILL HAVE to meet all metrics”.

Simply mind blowing.

VOC / LTR all in the ditch but it’s the store managers fault SMH !
