Thread regarding Rockwell Automation Inc. layoffs

Tsunami coming

The layoffs are ramping up. Otto. Coding. All ai or stock price manipulation by the id--ts at the top. Tell me who is smart at the top. Blake turns red because he knows something. Tessa asked-can we go faster. Matheus is counting shackles and knows the leadership is stupid. Bob has a great hairdo and Matt is a gpt wonk. Good luck.

Well RIFs are very common across the industries.

Actually Rockwell is one of the more stable companies in the snp500 club. Both of my kids have just been laid off, one from Verizon and the other one from the Microsoft

@OP in my eexperince, the layoffs generally take place at around Thanksgiving holiday and AF time. Headcount increase will nearly be impossible for most departments at Canadian locations.

Well layoffs are norm across most of the companies both private and public. Focus on improving yourself and making yourself employable/marketable.

@mp white masculine men have a very low chance of earning promotion especially if they have a strong knowledge of core products or hard technical skills. The mantra is about maintaining dei optics, fake care, we-ponizing compassion, and being ultra agreeable and likeable. If you are already manager promote based in DeI and you will survive. Dont stand in a way. Performance is not important.

@mp I bet Chinese or alike are pouring billions of dollars into sponsoring the DEI initiatives in US/Canada to silently degrade our economy/innovation/ competitiveness.

@mp i would add “su-k up” and adopt kiss up & kick down approach. Be positive and dont ask questions. Optics. Optics.

@ka well if you a white men over 50-55+ and competent/product knowledgeable then you almost guaranteed not get promoted. The hiring decison and promotions are driven DEI virtue signalling. Master the use corporate terms (ie synergy, streamlining, empowering, enablers,) and broadcast your wins. Be giggly, sneaky and manipulative. Start running daily. Do not stand in a way of anything!

@jx you sound like you have been around a while. What other Rockwell specific tips do you have? Or anyone else on here? For me, I agree with you. Perception is everything.

@jx well said! Worry about yourself!
Focus on promotions and employability. Forget about job security…it does not exist in RA it does noy exist in any company nowdays!

@OP I think Rockwell is ok. A mid size public company. They all kinda su-k but are stable. The customer base is good. A few of the leaders seem competent (Matthews, Buttermore, Gernert). I bet they have to promote some of the id--ts for dei optics. Oh well. That policy is in decline. Hang in there. And here is a piece of advice. Look out for yourself. Exclusively. No one cares about your career or aspirations. If you want to get promoted, realize it’s a perception game for a scarce set of openings. Performance is about 20%. Su-k up. It works in a company like
Rockwell. And many others.
