Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Adios Amigos

Submitted my two week notice yesterday.

Supervisor didn't give a flying fk and gave an indifferent clueless look.

Ranked O last cycle, CL 27, Couldn't be happier, looking forward to new job with caring and competent manager that truly care.

I hope this inspires others.

We the employees of ExxonMobil envy you very very much. Please, if you see a resume from an EM employee in the future try to give a hand. Remember the he-l we're living in.

Ever thought I would quietly quit but there is no engagement. I haven’t talked to some of my fellow employees in months. I’m not going to Houston. The only reason I’m here is I’m capturing the last few months of the increase. My pension will get from two really good raises over the last three years. but it takes an emotional toll...

Such a winner but yet, you spend so much time commenting on the EM board. I bet you got piped and are making the rest up. Clown!

They won't be missed but will better off than us. I think it is a relief to say goodbye to this place. All of my old friends retired and none have ever looked back. No one cares once they leave. It is like a burden has been lifted off of them. Some just disappear with no warning or goodbyes. No retirement party or get together. I know some who suffered horribly and left without saying a word.

We say goodbye to tell the other id--ts like you to get the he-l out of this cesspool. If you want to leave without warning the others that is fine. It is to show the employees exxon and the managers don't care why you are leaving. Years ago one of my only friends at exxon got piped. He told everyone he was piped unfairly. The supervisor asked him to refrain from telling employees about the pip. He was told to say he elected to retire. He then said I elected to retire due to an unfair pip. I will scream and shout when I am piped or why I am leaving. The truth must be known to everyone. It is the only thing we have that is constant and fair. Exxon is not fair and will never be. If you hi filers and favorites want to suppress the truth so be it but for the rest of us we not be silenced. OI make it a point to warn the ones that will listen to the horrors of the past. All of the unfair games and rankings are exposed by myself to the newbies. What has happened to us will happen to you so believe it. So yes we will make a stink and tell everyone why we are leaving this unfair he-l hole. I love when it happens to someone who doesn't believe. They come to me and say you were right.

Why do people have the need to announce to the world they are leaving. Just go.

When I was a manager of a great employee, I was not surprised and very happy when they found a better job. I was immediately also thinking who I could move out of NI and careful not to take in another high performer until after rankings.

Oh please stay 27O! What will I do without you?

I wouldn't call anyone top talent. Outstandings come and go throughout a career.

Yep. I got pay bump, quite sizable.

To @aq+1jhb222th:

You know, when your top talent is leaving, a good manager would express concern, and willingness to learn what can be done differently to prevent more talent drain.

A CllL27 understand this, and so many other things that you don't.

This used to be a place that cared. Now they don't. Loyalty goes both directions. The company does not care. You should not either. Do well in your new role - you got great experience here.

Friday was my last day. I didn't get asked a single damn thing by my SLS or management. My second to last day, I called HR to ask a question about my pension, they weren't aware that I was leaving. Not that I expected any real conversations, but just goes to show how out of touch the system is with the rank and file.

Did you get a pay bump for this job switch?

What did you expect from your supervisor? You're an adult and you made a choice for what's best for you. Did you think they would beg you to stay or make a big fuss? Business will go on...

A Cl27 should understand this.
