Everyone at Boise will lose their jobs. And as for "relocation"? HA! Not gonna happen!

@k4 Just FYI it’s 1100 people across 3 buildings. Not what it once was, but it’s still a sizable amount of folks.

@gv FYI about 1100 people still work in Boise across 3 buildings. Not the numbers in years past, but it is certainly not a ghost town.

@gv Funny to me that people are downvoting your comment. The "down-voters" a just bunch of HP codgers who think they have a job for life at HP. The only building on the campus still being leased by HP is largely deserted, and the parking lot is just rows upon rows of empty parking spaces.

To anyone still at Boise -- Better start looking for another job RIGHT NOW. HP is not going to coddle you with relocation or anything to help you, just a pink slip.

This announcement should not come as a surprise to anyone. The Boise site has been a ghost town for years. The place does not have more than about a hundred employees left, likely less.

@a6 Um, okay. I know of a dozen startups in the Treasure Valley just on tech. The fact you don't, is probably the main reason you are getting laid off. You have been in your HP bubble for 20 years plus. Plenty of large businesses in Idaho too. The population is only around 2m... how many Googles and Apples do you need? Obviously HP not relevant, as that has been happening for a decade. But otherwise, great take and really on point.

Does anyone know the odds, based on past site closures, of HP actually offering relocation? Are most of the employees just going to be axed instead?

What happens to those that agree to relocate by a certain date, but then don’t relocate. Are they WFR’d or fired?

We all knew it was coming as soon as our ex CEO abruptly left after talking about AI transformation. They were clearing out whole divisions locally the last few months. Not sure what sites are affected in total, but rumor was Ft. Collins could be one. Sounds like Corvallis and Vancouver will be taking up Boise's pieces. Good luck guys and gals. As much as Boise touts its booming business growth. Unless you look at Micron or construction, or medical field, you won't see any legit growth. People are coming here with their old jobs out of state or just retiring here. They don't need to start companies. It's all a facade. Small businesses don't pay the bills here. Never have. Idaho's 90's pay for a 2026 California cost of living.
