As every other major retailer is closed, including your competitors. What a shock, that cvs only cares about $$, not their hard working employees who deserve a day off to be with family.

you knew this when you took a job there....so perhaps blame yourself.
There's an easy way to prove it's corporate greed. When your direct competitors are closed, and you're open, there you go, greed plain and simple. Now some of you might say that Walgreens and Rite Aid were closed for different reasons. That being the fact that both of those companies are in poor financial condition, and are trying to cut costs anywhere and everywhere there can. Ok fine make that argument. (Rather ironically CVS is doing the same thing cutting costs everywhere) But that argument loses a lot of steam when in many areas CVS was the only place open, and even then the pharmacy was only open limited hours while the front store was open longer. The list of retailers closed yesterday was a mile long, and they all had the same basic premise, give their employees a day off.
CVS uses that "we need to be open cause pharmacy" cr-p all the time, but that argument is dead when the RX is closed while the FS stays open. Then they say "Oh but we need to be there for our customers" Chips and soda is NOT important. And half the people coming in are only there cause they're bored and you happen to be open, while everything else is closed. So nothing is that important that it can't wait another day. People just need to plan accordingly and CVS needs to stop catering to people like their life depends on it. Frankly, with all the cost cutting CVS is doing these days, I'm actually very surprised that corporate refuses to budge on holidays and store HOO.
In my town CVS is literally the only store open, everything else is closed. OP does have a point, regardless of whether you agree with it or not. Plus why have the store open if the pharmacy is closed? Makes no sense. But then again, a lot of the things cvs does make no sense.
@jzo+1vIEKHAH Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, REI, all closed. Just to name a few.
Oh stop being so dramatic. Nowhere close to every other retailer is completely closed today and non-24 hour CVS stores are closed by 5 so employees can have dinner with their families.
