Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Not sure CES went as great as we had planned.

The U.S. Government invested in CPU manufacturing in the US and at CES Intel's only advantage was GPU for gaming and promises of handheld gaming chips, All still relying on TSMC for yield with Intel 18A as a backup.

I read Intel squeaked out a video card and chips for Palm Pilot. Anything complicated? Ship it out to TSMC. Pitiful!

@j3 Well, the tag line for Panther is '60% of the time, it works every time', so the company should be able to exceed this expectation, 60% of the time.

If you go to a legitimate site and read the reviews, Panther makes advances in iGPU, power and performance.

Really?

Even if additional process node round or two happens isn't scaling transistor size down essentially over? What is the next move?

Read more reviews from outside. The news from Intel itself is not trustable.

I'm more excited about mbly buying a robotics firm, because that may be the setup for mbly being an M&A target in the near future. Intel still owns a fair bit of mbly.

@a3 The sitting government is actively defrauding the taxpayers, and will continue to do so. That's why INTC skyrocketed in 2025. How can a government defraud itself? They are in on it big time, skimming off the top.

@aq they've imported enough clientele for a stable demand to sell buttermilk for profit out of the fabs so there's that too!

Convert the fabs into indoor pickleball courts and charge a fee. Cheaper to run and maintain, and more profitable (for Intel).

All the foundry projects were cancelled. There's no wafers anywhere . They are defrauding the government just like a daycare
