OP thought he was posting on the Pet Cemetery message board, but mistakenly ended up on the FluffyIsEvil message board.

Imagine his surprise.

@k0 OP did not state he got a new cat.

I assume Fluffy is still somewhere in the kitchen, with ants starting to congregate.

@jz Yeah, Fluffy was all meow-meow and rubbing against my ankles, till OP left the room and then it was all claws and scratching as Fluffy tried to amputate my foot.

You wanted equality, you got it. Can't have it both ways. We don't see complaints from laid off males who are expecting, do we?

Not to add insult to injury, but OP may simply have been hitting the Starbucks a bit too much, and may need the coming downtime to slim down some.

OP, for reference, my cup of coffee has less than 1500 calories.

Too bad for you OP. I know a guy taking bond leave every year but I never see his pregnancy or big belly. He is soon promoted to PE.

My personal experience with Intel is the people who work in the fabs are mostly self-entitled, arrogant a--holes. I started as a CW and saw my peers get treated like garbage, it was very unpleasant to be around. This comment section is just more proof of that. But I will say it’s a much different culture and experience after switching to a different site and getting out of the fab. So it’s not all of Intel, not sure if it’s just that y’all are over-worked and stressed or what, but all that negativity has a ripple effect that does more damage than you think. Just cuz our leadership su-ks major a$$hole doesn’t mean you have to as well. OP I wish you and your baby the best, every ending is another beginning so good luck and don’t let this lay off get the best of you.

@OP, are you looking for sympathy because what does being pregnant have to do with you being let go, besides you sound like a troll. I’m sure it’s happened many times before with many other companies and you have no context to your post then just being bitter. Don’t go away bitter just go away, good luck with your life if what you are saying is true.

@OP I know it is tough and I really feel for you.
You work for an at will employer agreement so why are you surprised that you can be terminated at any time? That is why we love the USA! USA! USA!
Stop feeling sorry form yourself and get another job. May sound harsh and cruel many places in the world women given birth in the fields and continue working.
Harsh sorry but stop the entitlement.
I can just imagine the story you will tell your child how you were unfairly layed off even though you agreed you could be terminated from employment at any time.

Are u officially termed or at the end of the month. If still employed have your doc put you out on leave for stress on you and the baby.

Were you laid off with a whole group or were you one of the few in your org? If so ask your manager for the skills matrix info and why you were chosen. Tell them you think you were termed because you are pregnant and going out on protected
Leave. You can make it really hard on them. Push the pregnancy discrimination…..because it is discrimination.

Send a note first to the manager, then put all your info into chat gpt and instruct it to write a letter like a lawyer. Fire that off to the HR rep and you will get some quick action.

@OP sorry for your situation, hope at least you are a little less stressed due to not having to put up with the Intel work BS. Based on some of the callous comments on this board, yeah could not happen to a better company, some Intel people are really * wholes, tells you something about the no empathy cutthroat culture of this company.

OP should have gotten her doctor to issue medical cause for MLoA. Then enjoy her 6 months of maternity and bonding leave on top of her LoA.

Seems like a troll or OP doesn't know how to work the system.

I mean sorry I guess, but its kind of on you. The stability was in question well before 8 mos ago and you decided to go at it.

To have made that decision you must have saved up and thought through the plan and the region you are employed in.

If you didn't well... its gonna be a rough 18+ yrs.

I am sorry to hear that. I never heard that happen in the past Intel, but it did happen in the past few years for several tech companies. I have heard two friends in other tech companies and saw several post on forum in the past 2 years

Very sorry to hear. I hope COBRA takes care of you, if it comes to that. Not joking: can you get a maternity leave in before they terminate you?
