Unvested RSUs now in Fidelity

Finally, after months of this bs, my unvested RSUs have appeared in Fidelity (previously in E*Trade prior to this shtsho). The system generated account is called “BROADCOM INC RSU”

The other magically created Individual investment account will be the account where your vested RSUs after being cleared will be deposited it seems

Vested stuffs still staying in etrade

Has anyone else had their RSUs converted but have much fewer RSUs available in Fidelity than expected?

In my case the Feb vesting RSUs have moved to Dev 15 which is great as I had a big chunk on Feb 01. Traditionally I would have lost them since our termination date is Jan 26. My retention RSUs that were supposed to vest on March 01 still show distribution date as March 01 and not March 15 like other March vesting RSUs. Looks like anything vesting before March got accelerated to Dev 15. There is 5 extra AVGO vesting on Dec 15 that I cannot connect to any of my VMW grants. But I am not going to complain. Not sure what happens to partial AVGO shares as all of them show whole numbers. Conversion using 0.201 x yields in partial shares as well. Hopefully everything will be settled before it’s time to file taxes. Filing taxes will be fun this time.

To see your original ETrade RSU vesting history go to: Stock Plan --> Holdings --> Benefit History. It's all there, with the future vests now with a cancelled status.

It's interesting that the retention grants given last summer have not had their vest date moved from 06/01/2024 to 3/15/2024. Not sure what shenanigans are involved there and i'm doubtful that we'll be given any explanation.

How can we get the vesting information from grants we had at etrade?

That info seems to be gone from etrade.

Confirmed the analysis by Post ID: @jwo+1q0rHwIg, vest dates have been accelerated to match the 4x per year bcom dates. That's at least a little bit of good news.

I just checked mine line by line against original VMware grants.

The November 1st and December 2nd RSUs will all land on December 15th.

November 1st vested on 1st December but release date is 15th

December 1st will vest and release on 15th December.

All future dates seem to have been aligned to Broadcom dates which are March 15th, June 15th, September 15th and December 15th (with the exception of the retention RSU which was issued last year, that shows a 1st June date on the first vest date).

On my remaining grants where dates do not align with Broadcom some vest dates have been accelerated to bring into alignment with Broadcom dates on later releases (so once you get into 2024, no vest dates are beyond what they were before.

For example I had stock due to vest in February 24 and this has been pulled forward to December 23. Vest dates of June 24 have been pulled into March 24 etc.

When RSU's vest, don't you have to pay taxes on them during the year they vest. So if they vest in 2023, you will have to pay taxes on them.

I’ve also managed to login.

I’ve been at VMware several years so have lots of legacy RSUs and my upcoming vest dates were 1November, 1 December and 1st February.

For me it appears that the shares that were due to vest 1November have vested 1st December with a distribution date of 15th December (so they’re holding on for another 5 days before we can get them).

For the shares that should have vested on 1st December they are showing as vesting on 15th December and also have a distribution date of 15th December.

I’m just cross checking against my original grants as they seem to have pushed other dates back too. This is not what Broadcom told employees would happen, but I am not surprised.

The future vest dates have been modified to align with bcoms 4x a year schedule. That’s not what was supposed to happen, vest dates were stated to stay the same. Another odd thing is that there are rsus vesting on 12/15/2023, where at least in my case that wasn’t true before. Is that some sort of acceleration to. compensate for changed vest dates ?

Also note the shares that should have been vested since 10/30 are included in the Fidelity account with a date in mid December for distribution date.
