Happening today across all Fabs and TMG Orgs it seems like.

What's the latest, any rumors from the grapevine?
TI also fired a bunch of folks around the same time for various reasons to not replace them. It was just an excuse to get around the whole layoff and save even more money. While layoffs occurred the Ethics department was working around the clock looking for any reason to fire folks.
@b8 essentially all of them lost tech ladder members. RFAB lost it's only DMTS and some SMTS. Paid too well and letting them go for "cost savings" I'd assume.
@1e2 yes, and a few that didn't want to retire. One was waiting for it, the other wanted to keep working. At least they got good severances. ATD got hit hard with those younger.
Seems like a lot of the older people close to retirement were hit in California...
@m3 they'd save even more than 1%.
@17w facilities was hit hard in Q4 last year. North campus is still struggling to get their stuff together after the big RIF
Any facilities folks get RIF?
RSU/Options are all gone lost. How is it justified when all the work contributed to TI resulted earned stocks are now worthless and yet the work contributed is used while people are gone. TI management do you read this?
It was a bloodbath in D5... large group of people in various roles & years of service.... some new, some older... all areas.... I'm 39 yrs in.... Time to go!
Mohd. Yonus behind all this. He could have taken down the leadership who is failing not the hardworking Engineers
@jz me too!!!
@j4 I guess I gotta dip before next year✌️.
i bet TI could cut the same amount of cost if they reduced C-suite and VP compensation by 1%…
@j4 C-suite excepted
All fabs and TMG related groups were impacted. Finance and Operations were hit last fall. Seems that TI rolls groups they layoff to avoid WARN requirements. Amazing that nothing has made the news on this with them reannouncing all of their investment in US manufacturing recently as if it were new news and not the same plans they have been following for years. Guess that was just to get an attaboy from the president for bringing back US manufacturing right before laying off staff.
@jq I know the LFAB team that got cut a couple months ago didn't get any unvested stock
trump just said how great TI is and that the tariffs are great and saving them.
@jk I got booted from MFAB too. No warning no nothing. Never had a bad review
What does the severance package look like? Do those with unvested stock get to keep it, or is that ripped away from them?
Good luck everyone! I am also someone with a lot of experience and dedication who got booted at MFAB.
I guess there won’t be decent raises or bonuses next year.
@e2 are they offering retirement packages?
This has TMG Executive VP's fingerprints all over it. Got out & retired after 35 years a few months ago. Sad how this hit a majority of high performers ( high salary) in the U.S. DEI eligible and H1B visa holders appeared to be no part of this RIF. Sad. Who and what experienced talent will make the expansions at RFAB, Sherman and LFAB even somewhat successful and on schedule ? NCG's ? Experience tells me not! So much for the dog & pony show of bringing back semiconductor manufacturing to the U.S.
Ethics has been the cornerstone of this company long before I started. Lately, the true definition of ethics has been lost and is now a flexible ambiguous term with not true boundries.
@em in ATD Dallas ?
@e2 Two people woth >20 yr tenure were let go yesterday in ATD AFAIK. One was SMTS and other DMTS
ATD reports to TMG, so they might be impacted as well. Looking like it is impacting more non-300mm fabs and orgs.
@bw Don't ever believe those press releases. I never believe anything until tools are moving in.
Anyone heard if ATD is going to be affected?
I got the boot as well. Still in shock. As I had just shy of 20 years with the company and so much experience. In the end, it didn’t matter. Still trying to process it. Good luck everyone else affected by it.
@bw CapEx vs. OpEx.
Anyone have any insights on why from top leadership?
Seems strange following an announcement of a $60B investment...
Sugarland, TX was impacted too. Experienced and up-and-comers alike.
@b8 RFAB, DM5, MFAB, DFAB, WPL all lost Tech ladder personnel. Still waiting to hear if DM6 lost any.
Which fab lost tech ladder folks? Dfab didn’t lose any TL staff.
Seemed to mostly impact TMG and TMG support groups. A lot of Tech Ladder staff, which really surprised me.
@OP Just after being notified by WebEx meeting today (June 25) that my last day at TI was today. Not a complete shocker, I was warned they do that often, and it wasn’t the best experience I’ve had in the semiconductor industry. There were two other attendees in the WebEx, so I haven’t any idea the extent of lay-offs. Good luck and hang tough, it’s not the end of the world, and may very well be a happier life 👍
??? I thought TI was doing well??? Why the lay offs??
@ah which fab?
California also, a few.
