Stupid question. How do I know my grade level?
So you're telling me there might be a chance?
Our VP’s start at grade 12
Not really. A sh-t employee WFH will just become a sh-t employee in the office. What matters is whether they have a manager that holds them accountable as ultimately the only thing that matters is deliverables, whether done at home or office doesn't matter. Many people will be far less productive in the office. Also since we're being graded more on participation points now, there's less incentive to log in evening and weekends.
The higher level of “do nothing”. The higher one goes the less they actually do. The nirvana state of Intel.
Notice how much this site quieted down once everyone had to be back in the office?
Even the RTO/WFH manic posting dropped way off.
My guess is that there were some who were WFH and were working other jobs, building their influencer following, or doing various other things that were not work related, relying on Intel to pay for their lifestyle choice.
WFO is good for company productivity and collaboration, but it also puts a stop to those who are always looking for ways to do the least possible to keep their jobs.
Somewhere on the way to 40,000 headcount, most if not all of those slackers are gonna be kicked out, because as the headcount decreases, the visibility of each worker increases.
Those who instead choose to find ways to be productive and innovative may someday get to senior grade levels, or at least remain employed.
If they study hard they can get an A+
