Just got off a call with my boss. Was given til 3/31 to move to BH. Wondering what other remotes heard today? Before you come at me. Prior to Covid I had an office. They closed mine.

@2k0+1jkgqfwdy especially if you live in an "at-will" state, yes. However it is a little trickier for them. You're not likely going to be a last minute decision. They'll have to put some thought into it to ensure they don't set you up for a lawsuit. That goes for any protected class. That means that they may gp through the whole dog and pony show of writing you up, putting you on a pip, etc. To build a paper trail of bad performance. Of course the other option I've seen them use is to claim that your role is being eliminated. Which means they can't hire a replacement for quite some time, lest you have grounds for a lawsuit i.e. "If the role is eliminated then why are you hiring a replacement?"
Can they let go of remote employees with a documentation ada accommodation legally?
You are assuming competence by Fiserv management. They could have counted the parking spots prior to purchasing the building.
I call BS. They already know there is no more room in BH
Riddle me this: why is that staff in Chennai and Pine are permitted to work remotely but we're not?
I had heard from several offshore people that most live in remote areas and cannot get to an office (poor infrastructure), yet they can still be remote.
If that's true, then it's preferential treatment. What applies to us should apply to them as well. Currently RTO Is not applicable to offshore, but mandates eventually make their way there.
This is not new and has been going on for years. FB wanted to do this in 2020 but the pandemic hit. In 2021 people were told to move or lose their job, but some were given exceptions. I was remote (no office anywhere close) for over 25 years and was told in 2023 to move or lose my job. There were no exceptions this time around. I'm surprised there are still remote workers.... your day will come sooner or later. They have 0 tolerance for remote work and I mean 0! They do not care who you are, how long you've been here, what your experience or work ethic is or what you mean to the team you work with. I've seen the best of the best shown the door. I was not in a position where I could move and was unceremoniously let go in 2024...
It's frustrating, sad, annoying, insulting, disgusting and every other emotion, but it does get better and it's easier to see now that I'm much better off without this joke of a company in my life every day.
Good luck to everyone and hang in there!
No more layoffs are happening.
I am remote. Hired as remote 10 years ago. Closest office is probably 5 hrs away. No one has said anything to me (yet).
Multiple people have posted that they were asked to move today. Not all the remotes but many of them.
If they say no then they will be let go.
@a7+1jkgqfwdy California and move to BH in NJ, doesn’t make sense..
Cali
@OP+1jkgqfwdy are you currently located in New Jersey or out of state?
Also remote because office closed. The majority of our staff is remote. I’ve not heard anything about that but there is no office anywhere near here.
Yep Indiana employee here
