Other full time employees drive for Uber, would leave at 2pm if they get a good ride, senior engineers and above believe it or not. They should be first to go we have at least two in our department

What's wrong with people here? bringing other people down so you can keep your job? how naive. Go work hard and deliver, win trust from your boss. If the company policy does not say that, why not letting people do side hustle? Isn't a work week 40 hours for a job? real estate agents normally show houses after office hours. I feel sorry if you got laid off recently, but find reasons from yourself.
A lot of people have two jobs, as long as no time conflict.

Ps: I don't fit the criteria of 2 jobs people but can respect someone who is able to do that over a long period of time. All entrepreneurs take calculated risks before switching over to their side hustles.

Well, it makes sense though. As a Real Estate agent you have a better chance of getting promoted to Principal Engineer than working at Qual-ta-d.
No one at Qualcomm delivers! Everyone that did deliver is dead! Qualcomm hasn’t invented a new revenue stream in almost 30 years
