Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Leaving at Lunch to Work from Home

Does anyone else’s office have people badge in the building in the morning to say that they have come in to the office only to leave at lunch and finish that day at home? This is happening in all three of the Wilson, NC offices. In this a normal practice that everyone is doing now?

I do not see this in Atlanta. Folks on my floor are there all day (7-3 or 8-4). And, except for Fridays, the parking garage is very full all day long. It's mostly Truist folks parking in the Plaza/Gardens garage because we don't have that many tenants in the buildings anymore.

As for the original poster, he/she is a spy, trying to get complete id--ts to share what may (or may not) be going on in non-HQ locations. Hey id--ts - keep things to yourself. There is already software in place to monitor offshore productivity. Don't encourage a broader use of it (although it would cost a buttload to activate it enterprise-wide).

All of you admitting to being coffee badgers are id--ts for going public with that information. The sc--ws will be turned and the vise will be tightened until you comply. As soon as the technology is in place the true enforcement will begin.

No, I didn't see nothing. As a matter of fact, I'm blind in that eye.

Most don't even make it to lunch.

The day they remove intentionally flexibility but keep 4 days in office is the day they should really start tracking turnover. Other financial institutions in Charlotte are only 3 days. Lots of options.

Gotta love the hypocrisy of tele-commuters requiring RTO 4 days and full days. And then they wonder why they get low engagement scores.

Wish we could do that. We have one of those managers who ‘drinks the kool aid’ and says we need to set an example and stay in the office for the full day. And here’s the kicker…she works from home!!!

Only people I see do this consistently are foreign invaders. They vanish around 1pm daily. They probably only do about 2 hours a day of actual work.

People like myself that do come and go home to work at lunch is better than people (who live within the radius) that doesn’t come in in the first place.

That’s what my whole team does, nothing against it in HR, and it is nice. My money’ says more posts like this in an open forum will have HR amend the policy to put “full” or a minimum of hours, so let’s keep this as our little secret mmkay ;)

No one in my area leaves that early. Most come in around 8am and leave around 3pm, usually to pick up their kids. And I see most of them eating at their desks. So...maybe you're lazy. For sure a rat.

Heard an top executive say it's called "intentional flexibility." As long as we show up most are fine with it.

I’m a manager and I encourage my team to do it.

Our department tried to tell people they can’t do this, but HR said it complies with in office expectations.

Your mileage may differ and rules can change.

Since being in the office produces no value I see no reason to be there longer than the arbitrary requirement. Coffee badging is the way to go.

I do it EVERY DAY
Rare is the day that I don’t shut it down by 1pm (usually earlier)

Happens all day, every day. It's great for those who have managers that don't care.
