Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Many good folks are leaving

4 of my collegeaues in IT have last day in upcoming week of Oct 21, they are above I9 & M9 levels, they basically resigned. Lot of folks are already leaving or planning to leave. It is not a good sign for any company. No company should get inspired be X, in long run it won't be good for both the company and the remaining employees.

One of the best people I had worked with in my years here left before the mandate kicked in. They brought a lot of value to the company. I now see and understand the impact these RTO mandates are having against women in particular because the childcare resources have not come back from Covid shutdown, it’s making women having to sacrifice career and promotion.

Dell wants people to quit. So they got what they wanted. That's why they make work so miserable for everyone, to get em to find new jobs so they don't have to pay severances. They don't think any sales people are talented enough to worry about us leaving.

Those 4 people are d-mb as he-l for resigning then, IMO. It is ALWAYS better to get let go than to resign. The only time you should resign is if you have a job lined up already. Otherwise, you miss out on the "severance package" AND unemployment.

If you are unhappy at Dell, that's reasonable but like... at least sabatoge yourself enough to be let go. It's not like WFR are uncommon at Dell anyways.

why would they resign and leave not getting anything in return.

I'd quiet quit , do nothing and force them to get rid of you.

this is exactly what these azzholes want.

"mass exodus from dell"

Want but can't. dell is filled with so much low grade level talent that most can't leave.

better question is for those who leave are they replaced? No.

there is no mass exodus from dell, people leave all the time from all companies, some good and some bad

This is called envy.

They are the smart ones. Abandon a sinking ship.
Not like Dell has any upside.
All remotes have basically resigned with two fingers in the air at Dell execs
