Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

Can we pick another office?

Working in the city can be very expensive. I’d rather drive. Anyone else going to the Long Island facility? How many work out of there? Is there room for one more?

Actually, nobody ever answered the original question in the post asking how many people are in the facility - after now 50 replies

You people are eating your own. Probably good to be face-to-face for five days a week and learn how to be nice and work together again.

Facility NOT filling up fast - there's 175,000 sq ft available if you Google it. My kids play soccer next door at SUSA - it's a huge facility / antenna farm etc

Um not everybody is or was in on Bob Meetings or reading Newsletters - that's why this blog is here - to fill in information gaps on what's going on in the company . There's a certain crowd on these posts that have an assumption that everybody is informed about every aspect of the company. A lot of people not only don't know about this blog - but don't visit it until they need to or just if & when they find out about it. This is where people come to question & get informed - but there's been many posts over time that are completely incoherent to others who need to be informed to get a grasp of what's going on companywide. There are people here who feel entitled to the information and nobody else deserves to be in the conversation because they should know all the info to begin with - NO, people come & go in this company, so just join as the company merges time & time again . Viacom & CBS have long history - but how would they know about Paramount & vice-versa? When it's important to know - especially similar jobs in both that are affected by mergers. Now throw in Skydance - get the point? Then maybe throw on WBD a few months from now. Out of 20,000+ employees - I doubt by the viewing numbers on posts - that more than 15% of employees are tuned into this site. Get over yourselves

What's your beef about who is important or not. You guys in the CCC are in your own world out there, stop gaming & get outside for some fresh air . Everybody in every division is just as expendable - stop getting off from Bakish acknowledgement from 3 years ago.

Why would anybody know about the former HBO site or know what NOC is? Do any of you know what the WGA or DGA is? There's a lot more people that are involved with that that NOC? Anybody know? Anybody want to take a shot? Anybody know what a 4.03g is? There's hundreds of them in the company - this is why most people here spell things out - so everybody is on the same page. Just like people posting about Hackman over the years - who the heck is supposed to know what Hackman is - until years later when Bob sold the production studios to HACKMAN... People at the BC didn't even have a clue as to what Hackman was - BC is the News Broadcast Center - why would anybody from CCC know about any of this stuff? That's why civil minded intelligent people spell things out

@jc
If you followed the thread wise guy - it took over 10 posts for some third party to answer what CCC is, where it is & what it is. The CCC boys refused to & never answered the question . These bakish loyalists who tuned in to every bob propaganda town hall assume everybody else in the company listened in - when nobody in the content creation parts of the company ever did as far as the people I know. Somebody asked a question and the answer was avoided dozen times. Therefore I am now going to do my best to urge the company to outsource cloud contractors & bring in Oracle cloud to get rid of you psychotic b-ms & get rid of the "long island " facility - which we were finally told - is in Hauppauge

Um you lost me at Bob. He's toast, were talking about right here right now. You guys have been hiding what your unit name is, what you do & where you're located. Lol YOU were just hiding it, has nothing to do what bakish said 4 years ago. You think you're special? You weren't paying attention - Bob tells every unit how integral they are, Bob may be biased to praise Cloud peeps because he's an engineer dingbat & he oversees 2 engineering schools at Columbia - probably how a lot of you got here - via Columbia & Bob - which shows YOU don't KNOW a lot about this company - seriously you are just one part - if anything is key "content is king" as sumner redstone said. Point of all these posts is just answer simple questions when people ask - you knew the answer, somebody knew the answer - why the head games ,

@ff because in every town hall from back to the Bob days they talk about how this facility is key to streamlining how the content gets to the customer . This isn’t some hidden thing, don’t be lazy. Maybe try understanding how the company works a bit instead of complaining.

How would anybody in a company of nearly 20,000 possibly know the acronym for any other given department ? Clearly less than a thousand of the 20k have any idea what CCC would be or where it is. There's probably another 2 dozen departments that have such acronyms for departments or even employee groups - especially when it comes to unions from coast to coast. How would anybody at CBS know about any acronyms at Paramount - how would viacom, CBS, Paramount know anything about Skydance groups & vice-versa? Get over yourselves

Not answering somebody's SIMPLE question is being rude. What was the big secret? What did it take so many times for somebody to say the cloud crowd is in Hauppauge? Seriously, what is wrong with you people? This forum is for sharing information and you whackjobs refuse to help. Now we all know that you selfish mothers are out to protect yourselves at the cost of hurting others for no reason.

??? What is that supposed to mean? Salary is based on what you bring in - commission is the root of sales since the beginning of time, what's your point? The sales people I know wine, dine & travel clients all the time. Just what exactly don't you get about sales? If you're not happy with the income that you know was strictly up to your own ability - then leave.

So they literally are CODE Talkers lol.. who even considers them real employees? The real employees are the video production & creators, news & entertainment, sports and all the sales & marketing that make the money. You tech geeks can actually be outsourced or just let go to have a cloud company contracted to do your work . How many of you could there actually be to be a concern to the company. And btw - now that you've been so cocky secretive & pompous - I'll make sure to bring up your insignificance to David Ellison the first thing this year.

@c1 you seem like a high performer. The ccc isn’t some secret base of operations, just look at Murray or whatever they call it now. Clearly you don’t have a reason to be there if you can’t bettered to do the minimal effort to understand what the facility is.

This is the exact toxic culture I've come to know all the years at CBS - it's on a need-to-know basis attitude like you have to be in their tribe. Just say the name of the town, say the name of the division. Stop playing games. Other posts talking about ANXIETY - and here you people are just causing more by not explaining anything. YOU people are the problem just as much as corporate

Exactly the point. Many others of us would be able to request to work from the CCC rather than choosing to leave the company or commuting to the city if you pompous id--ts would just say what the CCC is & where it is on long island. You selfish people - I hope the shut down the CCC wherever it is and you all rot like you deserve

@b4 the op just assumed the people who comment here works for the company and should know about the CCC. It seems he or she was wrong. A lot of people here have no idea about the company they work for. THAT’S WHY WORKING FROM HOME DOESN’T WORK!

This is what my manager told me.

Everyone has an assigned office they have to RTO in (Believe it's in success factors/ the HR system?). So even if another office is closer, they have to go to their designated office. If you want to switch or have an exception granted, you need to submit a request to HR that has been approved by your manager.
