Watching the quartely

Does anyone remember a time when the quarterly meetings were live and informative and not a well-rehearsed infomercial?

I watched it and saw that senior management (the term leadership no longer applies) had a great time and we’re supposed to be happy they had a great time. It’s like your friends posting on social media about a great party only they didn’t bother to invite you.

The most amusing part is where they tell us about mental health while you have so many people stressing about whether or not they have enough badge swipes in or even if they’ll have a job next week…

Let’s not forget the stress on AI enabled computer… I dont have one.

I could go on -but one more thing; Jeff, sit up straight when being interviewed and show you aren’t a bored teenager talking to an aunt you don’t really like, And put on a real shirt - even Zuckerberg puts on a tie for important events.

“ What I want to know is why John Roese feels the need to wear a Rolex on his right wrist and an Apple Watch on his left. Desperate to project an image of wealth?”

What have John Roese or his organization ever delivered that EMC or Dell have actually monetized? If MD/JC want to save money and cut dead wood, start with this entire organization

I remember when the quarterly meetings weren't total bullsh-t, but I was working for EMC at the time.

“ Please stop with the Sudhir comments already!”

We need to deal with reality. Sudhir was our best hope to become relevant again. The fools we are left with are too incompetent to lead us forward. MD should beg Sudhir to come back, fire JC , and give his position to Sudhir!

Why tf does it matter sudhir isnt here? Dude was part of leadership who drove isg into the iceberg. All this sudhir di-k su-king is fking weird”

Sudhir was the only one keeping this place remotely relevant. He will end up at Pure, VAST or Weka and put the final nail in our storage business’s coffin

I’m the OP - I don’t expect quarterly meetings to be in person. Live on-line would be fine.
But at least the option of a real time answer to a question would be good. I remember one of the CFOs (I think at EMC) was really good at explaining the nuances of the results so that even we non-finance types got something out of it.

If PowerPoint purgatory in a room of over-caffeinated eager beavers is your thing, I respect your tolerance for pain. I just prefer self-respect.

The infomercials are way better than live meetings, who wants to sit in a crowded room with a bunch of tenderfoots?

I find the pre-recorded, completely scripted on-demand quarterly to be rather insulting. Our executives literally can’t do a live session once a quarter with their employees? Or even once a year? “Everyone put on a smile.” Have to control the narrative.

I noticed JC mention how we will continue “modernization” (ie, layoffs) throughout the year, then a few seconds later point out we didn’t gain market share in traditional areas. And I just want to say Jeff, maybe if you hadn’t gutted every single team in ISG, sales, services, etc. then that wouldn’t be an issue. Not sure what you expect when many teams are barely functioning skeleton crews…

I bet it's all due to Sudhir leaving. Although I have it on good account from a very senior VP contact the next wave of WFRs will affect less than 1% of Sudhirs. Anyone hear any different?

Agree on the t-shirts. After a certain age it looks like you’re trying to hard to be relevant.
