Thread regarding Bose layoffs

Is Bose profitable yet?

Seems like they should be getting close to operating at a profit by now? Breaking even after selling off so much is one thing… but is Bose actually operating in the black yet? Does anyone know?

@j1m Maybe bigger over in China and India. The MA footprint is now limited to a few buildings on “Bose Mountain.”
Get real.

I predicted that BOSE would go extinct when I worked at park place back in 2001. Two months in I quit. Management was a pile of arrogant a-holes.

Here is a great idea let's quit making our best selling product. No new version or upgraded model. Just completely do away with it. Next shut down service for all soundtouch products(ECCO-1). Sell only 3 sound bars. 2 bass boxes that only worked with wired connection. Wireless connected they pop. 2 head phones and 2 ear buds, 5 blue tooth speakers. 3 portable PA systems. 2 aviation head sets. Automotive OEM. Better sound through research. Bose outsourced all of the R&D. They only thing left is a corporate shell that engages in circlej--ks and virtue signaling. Good job team we can't run our own logistics so we let DHL take over our distribution centers. The team and leadership were so successful we had to send repair and refurbishment to another company in Mexico. Management in repair was a joke. Lets have logistics run repair. No more honoring veterans but celebrate Trans Awareness day on November 19th. Then you wonder if Bose has turned a profit. You still can't see the writing on the wall. For those who are still at Bose I have a question. What exactly do you do? What is left?

@3a5 actually their gross margin is less than 40% now. They haven’t had good margins since we were making the wave radio.

@301 That's bs. The mark-up on products has always been absurdly high. Even at employee pricing there was ample room for profit margin.

@c5 Cutting the employee discount because to many people abuse it. They are actually losing money on that. It was more profitable at the higher amount.

I went to Best Buy the other night. Bose only has 14 products. 3 sound bars, 2 bass boxes, 4 Bluetooth speakers, 2 headphones and 3 ear buds. That is all that was at Best buy . All that is left after that is portable PA, 3 products, 2 aviation headsets and automotive. You think Bose is going to turn a profit? You must be a special kind of stupid.

"Hello, McFly! Anyone home?!" You have to be kidding. Profitability? Is this your first day on Earth? This is called "re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic". The ship is going down, Dude. Break free of the denial.

This is a joke right? They lose millions every year - that is considered a good year. Buying McIntosh allows the to continue with the narrative until everything is liquidated.

They bought McIntosh a year ago and you think they are making money. Now cutting employee discount. Bose is in a death kneel. If you think the company can be saved you drank the cool aid. When somebody leaves do hire a replacement? No, Bose does not..The writing is on tbe wall. Red flags everywhere. Look for another job.
