BTC Business Trips to US

Anyone noticing the large number of business trips to the us from the BTC? What happened to the cost discipline and travel lockdown? I guess it only applies to HC10 employees! Do people really need to take field trips for a day to the Permian from the BTC to do their jobs?

The BTC vacation trips to the US are out of control. Someone needs to take a serious look at this. UNCON could save a lot of money by eliminating the wasteful trips that add no business value.

@kk The people you mentioned all donate to the republican party and the O&G industry throws huge amounts of money at republican candidates.

They’re white, male, affluent, conservative, and they’re responsible for virtually every workplace policy that you don’t like, including offshoring to Bangalore.

You’ve been played. Hard.

@jv, AGAIN, you’ve clearly never met DW, KM, or any of the new board members we picked up in the proxy fight. These people abandoned practical business conservatism long ago. In the past they may have played both sides. But in recent election cycles, they went all in for the Dems. All in for those LCS subsidies and “stakeholder” politics.

@jm Again: affluent, white, republican men are making all of the strategic business decisions and have a near absolute lock on industry capital.

I have no idea why this is so hard for so many of you to grasp.

on necolonialism —
For the record, US expats to India who are Indians are the worst of India in general. They couldnt make it India hence went out and got stuck at Exxon. and then were sent to India to further worsen things.

BTC doesnt want them as well please keep them at EMHC or let them go. Their funny accents and misplaced sense of intelligence are intolerable in India and in USA alike.

@j1, clearly you we not in the room when the decision was taken to end American careers. It took several years of exposing the MC to the consultants, but in the end they broadly sold the view that Indians have a higher intellect and education than Americans. The infestation of Brits and other anglophiles in our senior management made it easy.

All you crying anti-Indian racism on this chat are the HC10 managers who benefited from what they hope will be a nice neo-colonial opportunity for you to safely finish your own careers. Stop and take a moment to consider the families whose ox has been gored before you sling around the racism label.

@fa It came from your white, republican executives, who all collect massive bonuses for doing so.

You’re just looking for an excuse to slam Indians and people with darker skin in general. All they’re doing is trying to earn a living.

This is sad. This reminds me of people from China who does exploratory work here (not necessarily EM) and then go back to implement and improve on intel gained. And so China has advanced in AI, robotics, etc. Similarly, we train people from BTC and they easily move out afterwards. Whose brilliant idea is BTCs.

@fg Have you been more that 50 miles from a major U.S. city?

How about the slims and ghettos within the major U.S. cities?

I think the U.S. can give any third-world country a run for their money. Spend some time in Singapore, Japan, or Norway (actual first-world countries) then get back to us.

Not a secret they are trying to eliminate US and HC10 jobs. It is well documented. Soon there will be no experienced personnel to run actual ops. All in an effort to cut costs and “increase shareholder value”. (How DW ends every quotable bs sound-bite.) Waiting to see who will turn out the lights at campus…any bets?

well all this vitriol really explains why the push to promote India as a parallel tevhnology center,

if you do get a chance, just get out of the miserable spring campus. its the worst EM site in the world due to the stench of politica. Careers made over coffee chat, clearly if you are not likeable you will suffer.

In the India office the mood is much lighter and collaborative. just learn from that and maybe spring campus can become tolerable.

“Exxon decided to open an office in India, Indians didn’t decide to open the Exxonoffice in India.”

Dead wrong. This plan to end the careers of tens of thousands of Americans came from Boston Consulting from a team made up of Indians. Wake up.

Yes, we all know you believe Indians are smarter and anyone who can’t see it is blinded by their own racism.

And any American who is resentful that they are losing their career and the job they need to support their family is obviously stupid and afraid of brown people.

Any yes, you did work harder than any American can understand to take those jobs from us. Had nothing to do with your countrymen at Boston Consulting who sold this plan to DW and KM. You totally earned it.

Don’t give a thought to the fat and stupid people who built those assets that will now support your first world lifestyle. We know you have a choice of airlines and we are glad you’ve chosen United Polaris. Enjoy that glass of champagne, sit back and enjoy the flight.

@c2 you hit the nail directly on the head with your statement. I am American and I travel all over the world to work as an expat. Currently I am a supervisor and I work with several people from India. I totally agree with what you say about Indians and their work ethic, they give more than 100% and they do not complain about it at all. All the ones I have worked with would give the shirt off their backs for you and not even think twice. They put in the work, the effort and the they are extremely trustworthy. The life most Indians live back home compared to the life they give to their jobs is absolutely amazing. I also feel the same way about a lot of Asian people I have worked with. Americans think they are superior and that no one can do it better than they can all while whinnying, crying and complaining when they already have the best of both worlds at home and at work. What you stated is true. Well said.

Correction. HC reductions at HC10 and campus. Replaced with low rate, low intellectual, low skill level people from third world countries.
The math does not add up. X5 outsource HC = 1 HC10 HC in productivity.

Because folks from India are generally smarter than the people we hire in the US. Hard for people to admit that the US is no longer special.

Why do you people always complain about India and not all the other countries that your executives are sending jobs to?

Is it because Indians generally have darker skin?

Clear strategy is to reduce HC at HC10 and campus…. To be replaced with Indians
