Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I think Pat should be sued and go to jail.

"I bet the whole company on 18A" (or read Foundry instead).

He literally did just that. He may as well go to Vegas and gamble the company on the roulette.

At least BK was not that irresponsible. Because of this I sustain that PG is the worst CEO In Intel history.

The guy inherited a $70B revenue business, $250+ Market Cap, and he turned it into a $50B and declining, stock sank 61%, etc. His execution was TERRIBLE, he did starve the already failing Intel Products, guess who were generating those $70B in revenue? You don't need a college degree to realize what he did was d-mb as fu-k

Sued for what? Go to jail for what? PG and the board have been transparent about their plans and goals all along. They may not have shared the progress and success of those plans completely but it certainly was not a secret. I doubt that they did anything legally wrong. Just plain old bad management decisions over and over again.

Intel is never going to be the company that it used to be so move on.

Damage to Intel was done long time ago. Start with Craig Barrett and onwards down till recently. One can enlist the inefficiencies, complacency of x86 being the single most architectural achievement, manufacturing process missteps, acquisitions wasted and so on. One can enlist all these. The leadership sang in chorus for the different CEOs and Intel miserably failed. The bravado and toxicity was baked in top down. The employee culture of promotions to all highly compensated positions depleted over time. It all worked fine until people were changing PC mantra. With data center and AI it all changed drastically. Intel is where it is not because of the cyclical misfortune, but rather its own making.

@ivq
Blowing through cash doesn't always bring successful results. The trick is to not just spend but to spend wisely. A hard lesson that Intel hopefully learns soon.

With all the money spent by TD, why can't they deliver on 18A?

Basically what OP is saying in football terms:

  • Pat, the quarterback, is put in on 3rd down with only a few minutes left in the game.
  • Pat's throws a Hail Mary to his favorite receiver, Ann. But the throw is wobbly and Ann falls on her face about 20 yards short of where the ball lands.
  • Now it's 4th and long - Pat gives the ball to his new Running Back, Foundry. Foundry runs right up the middle and gets tackled behind the line of scrimmage.

Game Over.
The big question now - With a losing record so far and in need of a new QB, how will intel finish the season? It'll take a miracle just to make the playoffs. Will cutting 15% of the team help? Maybe if we rename the team to something more politically correct like the Redskins did? Maybe if we go with trans & drag queens like Bud Light & Jaguar did?

He didn’t hold anyone accountable just like most of the company, people rarely get fired for being useless, they just keep showing up and getting paid.

Pat is nothing but a loser driven by poor understanding of the technology and market demands.
I can’t blame him alone, the board is also responsible for the wrong selection and not playing its role.
Both should sued, and I am 100% sure there is going to be consequences for the last 4 years of bad narrow minded leadership

This sounds like a post from a CCP/TSMC rep.

OP is 100% correct.
Products drive revenues and profits.
Where they are manufactured is secondary.

The out of control EGO of Pat insisting that Intel does manufacturing itself instead of outsourcing it to TSMC is the downfall of Intel.

Intel lost sight of MAKING THINGS THAT PEOPLE WANT TO BUY. Instead Pat built empty temples to satisfy his ego.
