Thread regarding Cengage layoffs

The one thing Cengage leaders need to know…

You have lost the trust of your employees. From the brand new college grads you hired all the way to the long tenured employees. It’s toast.

"You do understand the liberal elites in this country are the rich people. Right? They have sold Democrats a load of bullsh-t. And most of you have fallen for it. "

You keep saying this, but the two richest people in the US, Musk and Bezos, support T---p. And #3 Zuckerberg probably does as well. He's just not being as obvious about it. You don't know what you're talking about.

"It’s too bad those decades of experience haven’t helped you to cultivate empathy for others. But I guess it just goes to show what hanging around a toxic company for too long will do to a person."

Well, I would tell you to bet on yourself and quit.

No confidence? Tell me why.

"For a company that puts on a liberal facade, for the sake of education, they are nothing but greedy capitalist pigs, with a large P."

You do understand the liberal elites in this country are the rich people. Right?

Where do you want to start? Silicon Valley, Wall Street, lawyers, media?

They have sold Democrats a load of bullsh-t. And most of you have fallen for it.

JFK is rolling over in his grave right now.

Welcome to being used.

@8qbx+1v1uEa2A Wow. If the only people you care about at the company are those you hired two decades ago, then perhaps a better approach would be to ask them directly how they are doing vs. reading a board full of anonymous posts and ridiculing the posters for processing job loss and seeking solace among others who are experiencing the same.

You have the advantage of decades of experience to temper your emotional response to company reorgs and layoffs… and others don’t. Fine. They still have a right to process in their own way and on their own schedule without your judgement and condescension (or your entitled assumption that an online discussion board should cater to your specific tastes).

It’s too bad those decades of experience haven’t helped you to cultivate empathy for others. But I guess it just goes to show what hanging around a toxic company for too long will do to a person.

I know the “leaders” with a small L do not care about employees, but letting them know we see through them and do not trust them is our right.

For a company that puts on a liberal facade, for the sake of education, they are nothing but greedy capitalist pigs, with a large P.

They are posers who will sell out great employees here for cheaper and less skilled workers overseas.

Its the constant whining about "leadership is going to lose all of the talent." I worked for Thomson before most of you were born. I hired people two decades ago who are still there.

So I follow it because I care about those people.

But the tired narrative stated above has been used forever.

Back in the day, we had a sales guy, who is now most certainly on the other side of the grass, who wanted to unionize sales reps. How did that work out?

If you like it stay. If you don't, leave. But NO ONE IN LEADERSHIP gives a sh-t about anyone who does not share their own first and last name.

The sooner you understand that, the better.

@ikz+1v1uEa2A If you don't want to "go again," why visit this site?

That's like going to the opera and complaining about all of the arias.

If you don't want to hear it, or prefer to among company that affirms the direction the company is headed in, then why visit The Layoff? Just go to First Fridays! LOL.

Did something new happen or is it just more of the Project Horizon glow?
