Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I envy those who know how to switch all of this off

I know people who have "flipped the switch," to put it like that, since they know nothing will happen before the second half of January and are acting like business as usual. They are able to think about the coming holidays without stressing. I'm not like that. All I do is worry and think about what's coming. I will get little to no pleasure from this holiday season. That makes me both sad and angry. There was no need to handle it like this, but here we are.

@iiw is correct. Job security has already been gone for decades. You need to adjust your state of mind about it. Good luck!

Stop focusing on things you cannot control. That's all there is to it. I'd also hate to break it to you but your job was never safe and secure pre-announcement. We work in corporate, for shareholders. Our fate is impacted by the markets and how well the business is doing. Even if you work at Starbucks, Walmart etc. your job is never safe.

If you want control of you work life then start your own business.
