They keep extending it until everyone is pi---d and walk away a la Intel and tower

Dell and EMC ran as separate entities in China for some time?

I feel that this deal is going through regardless of China. Hoc all but said this (and then doubled down on it) during BC's last Quarterly earnings call. Given that literally "the rest of the world" has approved the deal, I don't think it's likely that China can "ki-l" the deal.
If anything, I see this being similar to how the Dell acquisition happened where China tried something similar and Dell proceeded with the deal and then dealt with China later.
China blocked the deal to retaliate against US. BC will give up like Qualcomm and Intel.
Yeah I think it is possible to run separate entities but it’s a risk of angering China who accounts for a third of BC revenue. Folks seem to forget that important element

I’m not so sure about being overconfident. I think that’s what you want to believe. The rest of us know it could go either way.
China not approving the deal. Its over.
Both VMW and BC seem "extremely confident" about Oct 30 and are not making any statements. If we don't hear anything by close of business Monday I am assuming they are going forward with the close as it is extremely hairy to make alternative announcements 4 trading days before close (Tue-Fri).
